This website is distinctly Messianic, comprising the Abrahamic expression of faith, which is to the Jew and the Gentile with a Hebraic character. We affirm the fullness of absolute truth contained in the Bible, embracing the cross and identifying with the convocations of the Lord as seen in the Feasts, the Sabbath and Passover. We reject the legalism of many in the Messianic movement. We reject the Babylonian Pagan traditions of the church. We consider all people Jews and Gentiles and those in all churches who are truly born of the Spirit of the living God to be one family. We reject institutional organised denominationalism (division). We foresee a great falling away of much of the church in these days, while at the same time a great restoration of part of the church. We affirm and identify with God's plan and call to the Jewish people in these days and will support and stand with them as future brothers and sisters. We stand happily with pre / mid/ and post tribbers. Our slant is cautiously pre-trib, but hey, post tribber...you're still family! Today much error has been added to Christendomand much truth has been removed. The Prophetic Scroll's aim is to deal with these issues and assist you on your road to glory.
I was saved in 1976 and became extremely interested in Bible prophecy, being an ex war-correspondent and photographer. My calling and aim is to share the dramatic and all-important issues of prophecy relating to our day. This is a calling to unfold and share the wisdom of God as contained in His word. There is also much teaching in these pages for your heart. It’s not all prophecy! Please study these things further yourself and understand that the format is non-exhaustive. Please search the scriptures to “see if these be true.” This is a "watchman" and Bible prophecy teaching website.

Lord willing, the next edition will be entitled "The fall of Obama" This may change due to the fast moving prophetic scenario we are in now.
This section includes relevant video clips from various sources, all with a biblical, prophetic slant of importance for today. I do not sanction the material in the sidebars or comments.

●ISIS says they will begin mass slaughter of Christians in Jerusalem as part of their “cleansing” of Israel of all Christians!

Obama says of the homosexual marriage ruling by the Supreme Court, “It came like a thunderbolt.”
USA Today published this picture of lightning striking the Washington Monument a few hours afterwards. Coincidence? I think not!
Here are some verses relating to the US Supreme Court ruling on same sex marriage in all states:
2 Peter 2:6 “God turned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example (Lit=perpetual example) to those afterward who would live ungodly.”
1 Corinthians 10:11 “Now all these things happened (referring back to the sexual immorality of the time of Sodom), to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, on who the ends of the ages have come.”
The judgment soon to come:
Isaiah 30:10 “Say to the seers, ‘Do not see,’ and to the prophets, do not prophecy to us right things; Speak to us smooth things, prophecy deceits. Get out of the (right) way, turn aside from the path, and cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.”
The destruction that will befall the USA is this: There will be a breach and a bulge in a high wall. It will break suddenly like a potter’s vessel. No fragments will be found big enough to hold the water. God will be holding out His hand all along calling for repentance. But the leaders of the US say, “No, we will speed up our own course. We will speed up our own way.”
Apart from the above, we will see some big natural upheavals. On the political front we will see Obama drawn into conflict and war with Iran, Syria and others. On the economic front we will soon see the great panic of 2015. These may or may not occur simultaneously, but they won’t be far apart.
Edition 266. July 1st 2015
Prophecy from above, prophecy from below:
Prophecy from above, prophecy from below:
►This is a very important edition!
James 3:15-17 (Amp) “This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual sensual, demonic.”
I’m using this verse above as our title verses because it lends itself well to the play on words. As there is wisdom from above and wisdom from below, so there is biblical prophecy from above and “prophecy” from below, or the world and its god Satan.
Bible prophecy has numerous unique aspects to it, including its plot of world history, the people of God and the unsaved world.
We can trust it and rely on it.
The world and its fallen masses also have “prophecies” that at the end of the day, amount to wishful thinking. They contradict the prophecies of the Bible totally.
The world follows their gods blindly and they hear its voices clearly. We as believers follow our God knowingly and wisely and we know His voice.
Prophecy from above:
Psalm 119:140 “Your word is very pure, therefore Your servant loves it.”
Proverbs 30:5 “Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.”
Psalm 12:6-7 “The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of the earth, purified seven times. You shall keep them O Lord; You shall preserve them from this generation forever.”
Psalm 18:30 “As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.”
Prophecy from above (of the Bible) is unique in a number of ways. ●It has a 100% fulfilment record. ●It is only Bible prophecy that plots the entire course of world history from beginning to end. ●It is only Bible prophecy that predicts the entire miraculous journey of the Jews to their final salvation. Included are hundreds of prophecies on the land of Israel and the city of Jerusalem. ●It is only Bible prophecy that speaks of you personally and your eternal destination. ●Bible prophecy is of great value and is most precious.
Isaiah 46:9-10 “Remember the former things of old, for I am God and there is no other; I am God and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.”
Prophecy from below -or the world:
The “prophecies” of the world are the great big belief systems that the unsaved world universally adheres to.
They are all the wishful hopes and promises that they make to each other. They are all the results of academic thinking and enterprise to make the world a better place.
These “prophecies” are the promises of the world’s politicians, scientists, inventors, and great thinkers.
The “prophecies” from below obviously fly directly in the face of the prophecies of the word of God. They exclude God. They favour universality and the collective “speak” and morality of the world.
The world’s “prophecies” are inoffensive to the world, accommodating multitudes of opinions and beliefs.
The world’s “prophecies” are impure, full of pure humanism, and the efforts of fallen man. They are the world’s attempt to better themselves, based on democracy, human rights and everything outside of the word of God.
Here are a few examples:
●A world-prophecy is this: You’re okay because you fit in with everyone. Just look at everyone else. They all believe and do the same things therefore you must be okay, because you’re one of the crowd.
●A world prophecy is this: There is no eternal judgement coming. God is love and would never send anyone to hell because that’s not love.
●A world prophecy is this: Because you’re essentially good, with good motivations and you’re essentially loving, giving and caring, you’re okay. If there is a God He will save you based on all your good works. (This is actually the belief of the majority.)
●A world prophecy is this: Because you were infant-sprinkled (baptised) as a little child and go to church every once in a while – you’re okay.
●A world prophecy is this: The world, over time will get better and better, because people are so clever they know how to fix the world.
●A world prophecy is this: The morality of the world is okay because it’s what the majority wants.
And of course there are thousands more.
The biggest failure of democracy – the biggest victory ever!
The greatest failure of democracy ever was the choice given to the masses at the trial of our Lord and Saviour, Yeshua. Pilate asked the people who they wanted released to them. With a universal decision and voice, they all said, “No, not Yeshua, give us Barabbas!” (John 18:40). Then Pilate asked, “What must I do with this innocent man (Yeshua)?” and the whole crowd said – “Crucify him.”
This was perhaps the greatest example of a failed democratic vote. But as we know, it led to the greatest victory ever which was the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and the payment for sin in wonderful salvation.
Public opinion is organised mass delusion. People have succumbed to the devils political propaganda. The collective, common belief is now political correctness. Mass thinking is the result of pure brainwashing.
The reality of the godless is a short-lived futile fantasy. Their freedom is in fact a prison of their own making.
Isaiah 59:14 “...I saw the truth cast down in street.”
Now, let’s return to the court of Pilate.
A Passover custom was to release one prisoner. We know the story. The crowd cried for Barabbas to be released. The name Barabbas in the original (Strong’s G 912) means “Son of the father or master.”
But what very few people know is that the first name of Barabbas, the son of his father, was Jesus!
Barabbas was an imprisoned leader of a rebellion, a thief and murderer. Interestingly, some original manuscripts include his full name, Jesus Barabbas! Tradition claims that his full name was left out of the King James Version (which is full of errors) in honour of the real Jesus. If you want to check this name, click HERE.
But more than this, it is Satan, the ultimate rebel, whom the Bible calls the “thief and the murderer”!
Be thankful though, that it was Barabbas that went free and not our Lord. You see, you don’t even know what your name is. Your name is Barabbas. You are him! If our Lord wasn’t executed, you and I would have no saviour who could save! We are all Barabbas, full of sin, and we go free thanks to the true and innocent Saviour of the world who was accused and crucified in our place.
Yeshua the Son of His Father was an innocent man and stood before Pilate and the world, about to be murdered, while Jesus Barabbas, the murderer, son of his father, Satan, was set free.
Do you see it? Jesus Barabbas is the son of his father the devil. He is one of the great types of the antichrist to come.
It is of great importance to note the difference between the two. On the one hand we have Jesus, the son of his father and on the other we have Jesus, the Son of His Father. The former is a Jesus without a cross!! The latter is a Jesus with a cross.
If we embrace our Messiah with a cross we will be forever separated from the world and its ways. If we embrace the messiah without a cross, we will remain forever joined to, and in unity with the world and its ways awaiting judgement.
One Messiah saves empowers and cleanses the other can’t save, he curses and dooms. One sets truly free, the other imprisons in camouflaged freedom. One gives spiritual insight, knowledge, understanding and wisdom. The other blinds you to God, deludes you and makes you spiritually ignorant. One is pure, holy and righteous; the other leaves you unclean and full of evil.
Jesus Barabbas is exactly what the Bible calls “another Jesus.” Galatians 1:8 “Even if we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you let him be accursed.” (2 Corinthians 11:4)
You can choose Jesus, Son of His Father, King of the Jews, or Jesus Barabbas, king of murderers and rebellion. Be warned, if you do not choose the right king, by default you have already chosen the other.
It wasn’t Pilate who released Barabbas; it was the crowd’s choice. They yelled “give us Barabbas”. The world got what they wanted. The world today is trying desperately to get rid of the true Jesus again, so that they can accept the rebel murderer-messiah again – the one with no values, morals or virtues!
The cry is not only “give us Barabbas” but “crucify the Messiah”. As you chose one you reject and kill the other.
►Here’s a glorious sideline snippet: The original languages of the Bible were alpha-numeric. Each letter has a number value, so you can simply add up the numeric value of a word. In the Bible, numbers have meanings. For example 1=unity, 2=division, 3=trinity, 4=world, 5=grace, 6=man under sin, seven = perfection, 8=resurrection and so on. The number 13 means rebellion.
Do you know that the numeric value for every single enemy of God in the Bible adds up to a multiple of 13? Do you know that every single title and name for our Lord adds up to a multiple of 8 except for one? Yes there is one title for our Lord that adds up to a multiple of 13! It is the title that was nailed to the cross above His head! It was on the cross that He became our sin and rebellion!
The characteristics of Jesus Barabbas:
“Give us Barabbas!” (Painting by James Tissot- 1836)
The soon coming Jesus Barabbas will not set you free. He went free but if you follow the new Barabbas, he will lead you right into hell.
He represents the world’s salvation, which is salvation without a cross. He was full of violence murder and rebellion (terrorism).
In Matthew 27:16 Barabbas is described as “notorious” or “notable”. The world will instantly fall in love with this new notable Jesus, the son of his father. They will be falling headlong for the devil himself in disguise – the antichrist!
He will prophesy peace and safety, love and truth. He will promise world peace and harmony on a grand scale, but he will bring the wrath of God upon himself and all his followers.
Calling for our Lord to be crucified, the crowd said, “Let His blood be upon us and our children and our children’s children.” That tragic self-imposed curse remains on the Jews today. By default, it extends to the whole unsaved world. It came by their own choice!
When you reject the free gift of true love – the salvation of our Lord, you are also saying, “Let His blood be upon us and our children!” You are cursing yourself!
The crowd believed they were doing God a service by getting rid of this Messiah character. Faced with same choice again, what will you do? Will you rush to give yourself to the antichrist? Or will you sit back and wash your hands of the situation? Pre-tribbers need not be concerned!
Don’t do it – you are about to choose Jesus Barabbas again!
The greatest prophecy of the world is that you can save yourself. Yes you can, you can do it. Just get into positive thinking, self motivation. Listen to the world’s disciples preaching nice inoffensive, self-motivational sermons one after the other and you will be fine.
You don’t need that offensive, cruel, cross. You don’t need to take up your own cross, an instrument of death. You don’t need to “hate your life in the world”. Just be happy and you’ll be okay. Just follow the crowd; after all, the crowd is so clever! Jesus has done all the dying, no more dying needed!
The world will soon face a similar tragic situation, and again they will choose Jesus Barabbas – the antichrist! The coming of the antichrist will be accompanied with numerous powerful supernatural signs, which will deceive the masses. (2 Thessalonians 2:9-11)
It’s not so much that they choose the counterfeit but that they hate the true Messiah, the one that condemns homosexuality, abortion and all sin because true love is holy and righteous.
Another of the huge, great big “prophetic” lies of the world is that you can be “as God”. If ever there is anything that appeals to pride this is it.
Genesis 3:4-5 “The serpent said to the woman, you shall not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
The tragedy of this lie is that in going your own way independent of God, your eyes will not be opened! In fact they will be closed and you will not even see that you are on the wrong road, heading to hell. “God will send you strong delusion so that you will believe the lie.” (2 Thessalonians 2:11).
Today the force and power behind collective, universal rejection of God’s word and ways is so very powerful. It is led and spearheaded by Satan’s prime tool, the mass-media. You are in grave danger without the full spiritual compliment of supernatural gifts in these days.
►►Revelation 17:13-14 “These (nations) are of one mind and they will give their power and authority to the beast. These will make war with the Lamb and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is the Lord of lords and the King of kings and those who are with Him are called chosen and faithful.”
How easy it is to make war with a lamb. You can kill it with one shot! But in the verse above we see a great surprise coming. This Lamb, Jesus, the Son of His Father will overcome them all!
But just look at the great universal deception! All the nations willingly give their power and authority to the antichrist!
Do you know how stupid it is to choose the losing side, when you know ahead of time that they are going to lose? Just think about for a while!
Jesus is one of the masks that Satan, the great deceiver wears!
The tragic “prophecy” of the homosexual world:
Homosexuals believe their “prophecy” that they’re okay and will not be judged. After all, Christians keep telling them that God loves them.
The universal flag of the homosexual is called the rainbow flag because it displays the colours of the rainbow. The rainbow first appeared after the judgement of God on the evils of the then world which included rampant homosexuality.
The rainbow is the promise of God that He will never judge the whole world again with water. That does not mean He will not judge the world again! The rainbow IS a sign and proof of judgement! The rainbow says “God judges sin.”
The world’s homosexuals are flying the flag which proclaims their own judgement.
By the way they recently changed their flag to include only six colours instead of seven. But they still call it the rainbow flag. Six, is that fateful number of man under sin.
The LGBT flag has six colours with indigo being removed. Some have remarked that INDIGO also spells “GOD IN I”.
And another thing: A central key tenant of the homosexual movement is pride. Do you know that the first sin of the universe long before the creation of the world was pride? Do you know that the second sin of the universe was pride? The former was at the fall of Lucifer, and the latter at the fall of Adam! Do you know that God hates pride? (Proverbs 6:16).
And they think they’re all going to be okay because the Christians tell them God loves them!
By the way, Christian; why single out homosexuals and tell them God loves them but hates their sin. What about the heterosexual? Do you see your problem? You are you showing particular partiality to one group.
To tell someone that God loves them when discipline and correction is needed is to participate in damning that person’s soul.
The world has a religion:
Because the world system has a god it has a religion. (2 Corinthians 4:4)
The world’s religion has no cross of sacrifice for sins. It is forever trapped in its sin and unable to get out – ever. The world’s religion includes a mix of all religions including the Christian religion. If you have not realised it yet, true Biblical Christianity is not a religion, but a relationship which you can only be born into through blood, faith and grace. All religions are based on law and works.
The very essence of the world’s religions is “You can do it.” They operate in the power of self-effort. Their objectives are worldly and material. They’re riddled with demonic spirits.
The world’s Christian religion believes in and loves Jesus but denies the Father / Son relationship and that Yeshua is God. This is the spirit of antichrist. The spirit of antichrist arises in direct association with the church.
Love is the big thing in the world’s Christian church, but it is counterfeit love. It is love that doesn’t interfere with their lifestyles. It is love that costs nothing. It is love with no Spirit, no judgement, no correction or discipline, no power, no cleansing of the cross.
Their love is all encompassing and accommodating. It is not the love of God as described in the Bible. The Bible describes this worldly form of love as “hatred”. (Look it up.)
It is not love that will make you right with God or save you, but love of the truth and the application of it that will save you and secure you in Him in these days.
One of the world’s major central “prophecies” is that peace will come to the Middle East and the world, once Israel and Jerusalem are divided. We know very well that Islam does not want a divided Israel. They want all of it, with the Jews destroyed.
Jeremiah 30:3-5 “’Behold, the days are coming’, says the Lord that I will bring back My people, Israel and Judah, and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers...We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear and not of peace...”
As revealed in the verse above and many others, our Lord will bring back the Jews to their land and it will not be in peace. It will be in enormous conflict and war.
The true prophecies of the Bible show that peace will come to the Middle East when the Prince of peace returns to an undivided Israel and Jerusalem, with Islam annihilated.
The big take-aways:
The big take-away is that all the “prophecies” of the world will fail – every one of them!
All the prophecies of the Bible will come to pass – every one of them!
The big take-away from this edition is the fact that the world’s prophecies of love and peace are lies. They’re a smokescreen to hide Satan and his demons from you.
The big take-away is that any form of religion without the centrality of the cross is a dangerous counterfeit and is about to rise in new spiritual power and strength...that of the devil himself.
Bible prophecy is the anchor of your soul. It is unique, pure, tested and true. It continues to be fulfilled completely accurately. Do you want to gamble against those odds?
The prophecies of the Bible are true, holy, pure and right.
I took this picture from the side of a mountain looking over the Savuti Channel, between the Okavango and Chobe in big game country, Botswana. Shortly after this, the river disappeared never to appear again. It was due to seismic activity.

Edition 265. June 24th 2015
The refiner’s fire:
The refiner’s fire:
Jeremiah 20:9 “His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones...”
Jeremiah 23:29 “’Is not My word like a fire?’ says the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces.”
Our Lord’s eyes are a “flame of fire” and His voice is a two-edged sword. You can’t remove the fire or the cutting of the sword! If you surrender in humility to our Lord and His work, it will work wonders for you and you will be most fortunate.
Have you been washed with the fire of God? Is your life giving off the “smoke” of God’s fiery dealings in your life? Is your life an aroma rising from the ashes of our Lord’s skilful dealings in you? Is your life the exchange of “ashes for beauty?” (Isaiah 61:1-3)
Weight lifting builds muscles. Spiritually, dealing with opposition, builds spiritual strength.
Because we live in a world where we have a lot of opposition, you can make it work for you or against you. Unfortunately very few apply the right principles to make it work for them.
Today and especially in coming days, pressures are increasing everywhere. People are falling under the power of stress, fatigue, and burn-out and the intense weight and guilt of sin and evil in their lives.
Suicide is increasing and in the coming days, will increase more.
Believers are not excluded from pressure and in many cases will have to endure more pressures than others simply because they are born of God.
But pressures can be a good friend!
The two-edged sword:
Sword making:●The bladesmith first sits down and plans the sword with exact measurements. ●He forms the blade in a fiery forge in a masterly manner. ●He uses the heat to draw out and shape the steel. ●He uses an anvil and hardened hammers to beat the sword into shape. ●Then he applies sharpening tools to the edges. ●Chisels are used to cut or gouge the steel. ●Punches are used to make holes in the sword. ●The skilful bladesmith also uses files, a vice, a press, a torch and drills. ●Finally, gentle polishing tools are used.
At the end of this process, a beautiful skilfully made, deadly work of art is the end result.
Our Lord is forming you into a two-edged sword. It is only once He has prepared you, are you ready for battle. Do you see what great effort is used to make a sword of His glory – beautiful and yet deadly?
The two-sided sword cuts both ways. It cuts and separates between what is good and right and cuts out what is sinful, wrong and evil. It is also a deadly dagger that kills an enemy with one thrust.
The two-edged sword that we are to be is a result of His workmanship. We are His representatives. God the Father transferred all judgement to the Son (John 5:22), and He transferred it to the word (John 12:46-48), and it transfers judgement to us (2 Corinthians 2:15). We are to use the sword of His Spirit and word as He directs.
It is only as we walk in and dwell in the Spirit and are led by the Spirit of God that our swordsmanship becomes effective in dealing with ourselves and others.
Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two edged-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit and joints and marrow (flesh) and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Psalm 149:6 “Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two edged sword in their hand...this honour have all His saints.”
Isaiah 49:2 “He has made My mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of His hand He has hidden Me, and made Me a polished arrow; in His quiver He has hidden Me.”
The two-edged sword of God’s word in our hearts has a primary duty of cutting and separating between the soul, spirit and flesh. Regular readers would know that I have stressed a thousand times the big difference between soul, spirit and body and the verses that apply to each.
But have a look at the very important addition to the list in Hebrews 4:12 above. The sword of God’s word and Spirit operating in us, also cuts into our thought life. You can control your thoughts. You can cut out bad thoughts. You can think on the things of God. Your thoughts are a choice!
Without this correct division, you will not be successful in your walk.
The use of fire:
The fire and the sword both have one huge big purpose for the believer. It is to separate, burn out and get rid of all mixture in our lives. Mixture with the world, mixture with false doctrine and beliefs, mixture with the occult, and mixture with right and wrong are just some of the things that will prevent you from walking in the Spirit successfully.
If you are not walking in the Spirit you will not encounter the deep things of God. Even the promises of God will not work for you.
Galatians 5:16, 25 “Walk in the Spirit and you shall not fulfil the lusts of the flesh...If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”
Note the use of fire by the bladesmith to produce the two-edged sword. Nothing will work out properly if there is no fire.
The horrific condemnation of our Lord against the church of Laodicea includes this rebuke: “You say you are rich have become wealthy and have need of nothing, but you do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in fire, that you may be rich, clothed in white garments that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed...” (Revelation 3:17-18).
Today we have a church with the fire removed. The fire has been put out and the swords of their mouths are blunt and useless.
Much of the church has extinguished its own fire.
Right now in front of our faces, the Christian world is undergoing a terrible metamorphosis of monumental proportions led by its leaders. Multitudes are falling away. Some say that we will soon see the church become extinct in the Middle East.
The Spirit-less denominational churches have become an abomination. The more I see and hear about the comments of their leaders from Justin Welby to Francis to most others, the more I want nothing at all to do with them.
Conversely, and thankfully, there are more and more ministers of the Spirit-filled churches upholding the cross, preaching the full fiery gospel. Some who were into certain excesses are returning to the full truth. I’ve heard some well-known flashy preachers recently speak on some of the very non-flashy, fiery old-school truths.
Today we have far too many churches and believers who are after fuzzy-wuzzy, nice lovey-dovey feelings. To get this they must centre on a few selected verses and get rid of the fiery, cutting verses.
If you try to mix truth and error you will be brought down to the great common denominator of equality with Satan and his world-religion and its evil universalism.
►Jerusalem Post article: “Any interpretation of the Bible which results in a conclusion contrary to the basic tenant of love is necessarily wrong. God loves gays.”
The above quote is deeply dangerous, tragic and very important. It’s a far-reaching lie of the devil. It sounds very reasonable, as so much from the devil does.
Biblical love is a fruit of the Spirit. The fruit must never rise above the Spirit of truth. If you remove the Spirit from love, you have the devils counterfeit version of love, which has no discipline or correction in it. Love must include the major ingredient of truth otherwise it is becomes humanistic and deadly!
The Bible declares that love without correction and discipline is actually hatred!
God’s love is worlds apart from Satan’s deadly, evil, love! Bear in mind that Satan loves you and wants you! He will use love, but be careful it is love with the fire removed! It is love with no two-edged sword, except to cut out and remove God’s word.
The doctrine of the world’s church is all-accommodating, all-encompassing, all-inclusive, virtue-less and mixed with multitudes of opinions and values. It embraces all faiths in the name of love. It embraces sin, error and evil. It rejects the old -school doctrines of the Bible and the virtues it creates.
If you quench or remove the fire of God, you will be left wide open to and exposed to the fire of hell. If you reject God’s fire, the world will burn you mercilessly.
The reason so many Christians are failures is because they have a half-baked, one-sided gospel in their hearts. They have removed the severity! “Consider both the goodness and severity of God.” (Romans 11:22)
The living tragedy:
Brokenness is a glorious, wonderful, godly principle. As we yield in broken surrender to our Lord, He fills us with His goodness, strength and life. But be aware, brokenness has another side to it.
If you allow yourself to be broken open in surrender to ungodly forces, they too will fill you with their garbage, keeping the great things of God out of your life. Truth and the very life of God will leak out of you!
Jeremiah 2:13 “My people have committed two evils; they have forsaken Me the fountain of living waters, and hewn for themselves cisterns – broken cisterns that can hold no water.”
Ezekiel 22:26-28 “Her (Israel’s) priests have violated My law and profaned My holy things; they have not distinguished between the holy and the unholy, nor have they made known the difference between the unclean and the clean; and they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them...Her prophets have plastered them with untempered mortar, seeing false visions, and divining lies for them, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord’, when the Lord has not spoken.’”
Ezekiel 13:10-12 “Israel’s prophets have seduced My people, saying ‘Peace,’ when there is no peace. They build a boundary wall of untempered mortar...it will fall when the flooding rain and great hailstones fall, and the storms shall tear it down.”
The term “untempered mortar” refers to clay that has not been brought to a proper consistency. The mix is wrong and it will break up or peel off when it’s dry and the storms come.
This really is amazing! In the verses above we have “broken cisterns” (pots) and “untempered mortar” (clay with an incorrect mix). The pots can’t hold water and the mortar collapses in the storms.
Do you see the tragic meaning and symbolism?
We must be broken and humble to our Lord, but we dare not be broken in the face of the devil. We must be impenetrable to the devil his demons, the forces of the world and all evil.
The storms are not coming they are here! Can you stand in the storms? Are the walls of your salvation secured? Can you hold the water of God’s Spirit in you without it leaking out of cracks? Are you strong in Him and fortified against the devil?
That’s so funny God!
In the tribulation period we see people scorched with great heat and other judgements. Instead of repenting, they turn on God and blaspheme His name (Revelation 16:9).
Here is the shocking, politically incorrect response from God:
Proverbs 1:25-27 “Because you have disdained all my counsel, and would have none of my reproof, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes. When your terror comes like a storm, and your destruction comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you.”
How amazing is that? Would you like to be on the receiving end of God’s mocking and laughter when you are in great agony, stress, and suffering? It doesn’t fit with all our notions of who God is.
But it’s right there. These people had the word of God in front of their faces all their lives and they refused it. They had millions of opportunities to repent, but they refused. And now they turn on God and blaspheme Him!
These are the masses in the tribulation period who mock God. But it is equally applicable right now to all who mock God by rejecting His word and ways.
Do you know what this all says to me? Don’t mock God! Don’t mess with the King of the universe! Don’t be an arrogant turkey all your life! But some will. Just look at this tragic verse:
Revelation 22:11 “He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy let him be holy still.”
Building your life God’s way:
1 Kings 3:9 Solomon asks: “Give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil...”
1 Kings 6:7 “The temple, when it was being built, was built with stone finished at the quarry, so that no hammer or chisel or any iron tool was heard in the temple while it was being built.”
When you have to get something cut out of you, you squeal. When you get burnt, you squeal. It’s okay to squeal and scream, but you’re no good to God in that process. You must allow God to do His great work in you first before you become effective in His service.
1 Peter 1:6-7 “In this you greatly rejoice...that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise honour, and glory at the revelation of Yeshua the Messiah.”
Psalm 66:10 “You O God have proved us; You have refined us as silver is refined.”
Where is the fire today? If there is no fire in your church, you can still ignite it in your life on your own.
Dealing with tragedy:
For us there are many situation that we can choose to go to which will help us build our spiritual lives. But there are also many situations that come to us whether we like it or not, which we can use in the same way to build us up spiritually.
It all depends on our attitude to the troubles we face.
I recently experienced the death of one of my champion, superstar Red Setter dogs. Because I’m a happy bachelor, my dogs, especially these ones, are like family to me. They are super-intelligent, loving and would give their lives for their owners without thinking twice. Well, my top-hound, Zarah died suddenly on Passover.
It left me shattered. There were other things involved in terms of messages from my Lord, but I was left with a choice. I could accept it and move on, or blame God. For me it was a fiery trial, but at the same time I decided to turn in greater surrender to my Lord. Pretty soon I was moving on, but now I had some powerful messages from God, which I will share at the appropriate time.
Make your thoughts a clean sanctuary. They are the internal decorations of your life. They lead to your actions. You can change your thoughts. It comes by choice. Do you know that stress is a choice?
I have just seen a friend of mine, a believer for many years, surrender to the pressures of stress. She placed herself under the council of secular psychologists, rejecting the council of God and has landed up suicidal, in mental home.
If you or others you may know want or need council for almost any problem in these days, have a look at the following two editions:
●Edition 83 entitled “Counselling believers in perilous times.” Click HERE
●Edition 104 entitled “Turning curses into blessings.” Click HERE
Israel refined for God:
Zechariah 13:9 “I will bring the one-third through the fire, will refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘this is My people; and each one will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”
Our duty as believers, refined in the fire is to warn Israel of her coming fiery trials! Our duty is to know the prophetic word very well, and to spell it out. Our duty is to declare to Israel what God’s plans and purposes are for her and to present to her the ultimate glorious victory.
Our duty is to stand in the gap for Israel, to know and identify her enemies, even in the church in these days. We are to speak warning, correction and comfort to Israel.
Matthew 3:11 “I indeed baptise you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, who’s sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”
We are being prepared for a time such as this. But we are also being prepared for a time that lies ahead. Please remember the “many” and “few” of the Bible! In a dozen places we see the “many” falling away and missing the mark and the “few” staying on track.
Have you been washed with fire?

The deeper, exclusive life:
The deeper, exclusive life:
Philippians 4:18 “...I abound and am full...a sweet smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.”
Psalm 42:7 “Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; all your waves billow over me.”
Exclusivity is not politically correct these days. That changes nothing! God Himself has called us into an exclusive walk, experiencing the deep glories and wonders of the kingdom of God as the horrors of the kingdom of this world intensify and unfold before us.
But be careful because exclusivity can easily cross the road into the fields of pride. That said – don’t throw the baby out with the water.
In fact it’s only from a position of separation and exclusivity that we become useful to our Lord in dealing with people, especially the unsaved.
People in their graves are exclusively separate. You don’t see them going to the shops, playing golf, having a party or going to the movies.
According to the Bible, we have died and our lives are hidden in Messiah (Colossians 3:3). In the Bible there are quite a few admonitions not to “look back” and not to go back once you have died to, and escaped the grip of the world. Our Lord says that “No one after putting his hand to the plough and goes back is worthy.
This is where our battle ground lies. As born-again believers, we have the Holy Spirit inside of us drawing us foreword, His way, but the unholy spirit of temptation and evil which lurks outside, always seeks to draw us into an entanglement with the world again.
In these evil days, we really need to be well-rooted in our Lord and His word. The consequences of shallowness are many and terrible. The principle is very simple and is wrapped up succinctly in the parable of the sower.
Seed sown on hard ground will be taken by the birds. Seed sown on soft ground, but that is hard underneath, will produce shallow roots and the plant will get destroyed in the storms. Only seed sown in good, soft ground, well watered and weeded will produce like it is supposed to.
In the parable, our Lord explains that the condition of the ground types is the condition of the heart types in man.
It is only a soft broken heart before our Lord and His word (the seed) that leads us to be truly safe and spiritually healthy. This is the way to have deep secure roots that will withstand the storms.
Our title verse above is one of my favourites. Is there a deep voice within the noise of the waterfall, calling you right into it so that you can be washed and flooded with the fire of God’s word?
The measure has not changed:
In Mark 14:2-4 we see the story of the woman breaking an alabaster box to release an expensive anointing ointment, and pouring it onto our Lord’s head. There are many lessons in this story, but simply, it is that you need to break the box to get the ointment out. Then the powerful fragrance spreads through the air.
This is the lesson of brokenness. It is only as we submit to His breaking that we become infused with the beautiful fragrance of His Spirit, which is spread all around us. But how do we know that we are on the right track?
The image below is a composite of ancient measuring instruments. Just as in the image, we need “measuring instruments” to see exactly, with precision, where we are going and what we are doing.
The measure of the Christian life and what is right and wrong, holy and true has not changed one little bit in the last 2000 years. The great shock awaiting many is that the standard of judgement has not changed either. God will judge all believers for reward and loss of reward based on the ancient scriptures. God will judge all the unsaved, not based on today’s values but on His ancient word.
What the measure is not:
People don’t mind you being kind and good and giving, but try being holy, righteous and radical and you’ll lose your friends. Do yourself a favour and say goodbye to them.
People want to be reassured, or they have a secret desire to know that they’re okay and not alone. So they measure themselves amongst themselves. They see their friends and neighbours in the light they use for themselves, which in many cases is pure darkness.
Matthew 6:23 “If your eye is bad your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness.”
2 Corinthians 10:12 “We dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves are not wise.”
Psalm 39:4 “Lord, cause me to know my end, and how to measure my days, that I may know how frail I am. Indeed, You have made my days as hand-breadths, and my age is nothing before You. Certainly every man at his best state is but vapour. Surely every man walks about like a shadow; surely they busy themselves in vain.”
Psalm 90:12 “Teach us to number (Lit=prepare) our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” In this verse, the original word translated “number” (Strong’s H 4487) is also translated in five other places as “prepare”.
In these verses above we see the futility of measuring ourselves according to the world? Do you see that these people, though successful are no more than a “vapour”? And finally do you see that when we prepare our lives and measure ourselves God’s way that we gain a “heart of wisdom”?
Biblical Christianity involves a huge amount of unlearning and detaching from the world and its ways before real learning even begins.
Intensifying end-time pressures:
Can you resist the devil? Can you resist the extremely powerful onslaught and force of the devil through the mass media? Can you? If you say yes, why then do you worship the devil in the seclusion of a dark cinema? Why do you take the Holy Spirit in you to watch and listen to tirades of foul language and blasphemy? You’re a sell-out!
Can you withstand the intensifying onslaught of the devil led by the mass-media against God’s word on Israel in these days? Before you say yes, I know ministers who have recently submitted themselves to the media, forsaking God’s word on Israel, Jerusalem and the Jews. The media is their new leader! Is the media your leader?
Think about how influenced you are by the mass-media and the ways and opinions of the world.
Proverbs 28:4 “Those who forsake the law (word) praise the wicked.”
The tragic thing is that these ministers are also now supporters of homosexual marriage.
Do you know what the common denominator is? It is that God’s word is clear on both. Don’t you know that everything God’s word is clear on, the devil takes the opposite view and blind, evil guides and their followers follow!
Job 38:15 “From the wicked their light is withheld...”
Here is an astounding verse of scripture on Israel, and there are hundreds like it:
Deuteronomy 4:40 “You shall keep His statutes and commandments that it may go well with you and with your children after you and that you may prolong your days in the land (Israel) which the Lord your God is giving you for all time.”
In this verse we have a time frame clearly evident for God’s choosing of Israel for His purposes. It is for all time. So what does the world say and do? – The exact opposite! What are more and more churches saying and doing? - The exact opposite!
There is more and more pressure mounting to divide the land of Israel and the city of Jerusalem.
And you reading this now, what are you going to do and which side are you going to support?
If your roots in our Lord and His word are strong and secure, you will stand with Israel, you will stand against the onslaught of evil on every front. And you won’t be thanked by the world and its church for it either.
Here’s the amazing thing and it is deeply spiritual. Try standing for God’s word where it is clear and you will be hated. Your friends will drop you quickly. Be different to the world and the world will hate you!
The reason is because you are an affront to their evil gods that they can’t even see or identify!
Please remember that the god of this world wants you to be just like them...just like the masses!
Resistance to the world and self-denial should be normal. You should aim at being perfect. If you are going the right way you will be hated by some and loved by others. You will be full of inner joy, peace and wonderful fruits of the Spirit.
As you go deeper into the secret place of God’s presence you will see the extreme shallowness of the world and its church. Self-indulgence at the shrine of the entertainment world will rob you of your joy.
Examining the evidence of growth:
Growth in grace has evidences. ●You will see yourself as undone. ●You will see wonderful spectacular things of the future. ●You will see the coming of the Lord and be ready for Him. ●You will see the world as already finished. ●You will see the fires of eternal hell!
Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks and the hands do. What do you do when no one is aware? What do you tolerate and partake of? These things speak of your heart and what and who you are?
Many Christians are not seeking our Lord. They are seeking comfort and well-being. They are seeking self-glorification. They are seeking sin because they love it. They will go to hell because their church minister gave then false hope and led them astray.
What makes you angry? What horrifies you? It was David who said “Horror has taken hold of me because of the wicked who forsake Your word.” (Psalm 119:53) Does this describe you, or are you a stupid, blind follower of the world? Are you horrified at the world today?
Today Christians don’t mind anything of the evils and wickedness of the world around them. You may think that you’re okay because that’s the way of the world, everyone is like that. If that’s you, let me inform you that even your prayer is an abomination to God and you are a stench in His nostrils. You won’t last five minutes, especially when the pressure is on!
Many are not aware of the extreme danger they are in. They are also not aware of the reality of hell. Too many have completely misinterpreted God’s love thinking that God only has compassion for them and all their ways, and that they have nothing to fear.
A word from hell:
The only reliable word we have from hell itself is from the rich man suffering in hell. (Luke 61:23-28) This is the only person who has been allowed to speak from hell. Do you think he may have an important message?
His message is terrifying! After begging for mercy, he asks that his brothers may be warned lest they come to this place also. He is refused on both counts.
We must not be soft on sin. We must annihilate and destroy all our excuses for compromise and bring God’s light into all darkness of heart. Have you taken stock of your life and what it is?
God comes with pardon, forgiveness and mercy in one hand and a sword in the other! The story is – repent and live or refuse and perish. (That’s a quote from AW Tozer).
As compromising Christians, the tragedy is not only for themselves. They in effect render the salvation of the world impossible. Today many Christians are so inflicted and infected with the disease of sin and compromise that they are useless to God and the world sees right through them.
It is the ministers of the gospel today who are rocking the cradle of a sick and sleepy church. Many ministers have no effect on the world and no power to do anything at all about it. They themselves render the truth they deliver inactive, because of their shallow, half-baked stance.
Instead of the standards of the church being raised, they are being lowered as more and more ministers of the gospel sell their souls to the walk, talk and ways of the world...and hell rejoices!
On a personal note, I have no desire to prove myself right and others wrong, but please be aware that we are dealing here with the things of eternity. It is eternity that we will not escape and our eternal position in it.
Compromise with world, will take the pressure off. Satan will never bother a compromiser or someone who has quit and given up following our Lord. Satan will not bother someone who is spiritually powerless.
We need eyes to see the devil. We must see through the media- mists. Today pure and holy biblical spirituality is rare. It has been replaced with a shallow, superficial, material, humanistic, and counterfeit Christianity.
Today most ministers of the gospel shield their members from the devastation of the applied cross. Instead of teaching and leading their flock to the cross of Calvary and the application of their own cross, they give them another happy, self-motivational message that fits in neatly and nicely with the deluded masses.
1 Kings 3:9 “Solomon asks: Give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil...”
In His secret presence is light, sight, knowledge, understanding, wisdom and revelation. In His secret place is glorious change!
Kingdom keys and views of eternity:
The image below is a composite of ancient keys. Even way back then, keys were unique. As believers in our Lord we must know that there are certain biblical keys to various areas of our spiritual lives.
Matthew 16:19 “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
The keys are the fullness of the doctrine of Messiah and its application in our lives. Other keys lie in the gifts of the Spirit to deal with the supernatural. We need them all.
One of the most powerful but secret keys is seeing what you can’t see! If your eyes are set on the materialism and all the things of this world – that’s what you will see and get, but remember Paul equates it all to cow dung compared to the excellence of the knowledge of our Lord!
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 “Our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. The things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
Job 15:8 “Have you heard of the secret counsel of God? Do you limit your wisdom to your own understanding?”
Seeing the unseen is an important key. Hearing from God in the secret place is another extremely important key.
The following verses are wonderful, beautiful and powerful:
Psalm 140:13 “...The upright shall dwell in Your presence.”
1 Chronicles 16:27 “Honour and majesty are before Him; strength and gladness are in His place.”
Job 11:6 “He will show you the secrets of wisdom.”
Psalm 27:5 “In the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.”
The Jerusalem key:
Let’s have a brief look at another secret by powerful key that is little known or used today.
Revelation 3:7 “To the angel of the church of Philadelphia write, these things says He who is holy, He who is true, He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens.”
The “key of David” is identified in Isaiah 22:21-22. It is the key given to those who open their hearts to and for Jerusalem and the Jewish people! How great is that? It applies to those with a heart for God’s word on Israel, Jerusalem and the Jewish people in these days.
Try as you may, it is impossible to “shut the door” on God’s word for Israel. What you will be doing is shutting yourself out of God’s kingdom!
Exodus 33:13 “Now, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation (Israel) is Your people.”
This beautiful, far-reaching verse above shows the benefits of seeking and finding God’s grace and ways, but note the little tag on the end. It relates to Israel. Our grace and privilege is to help, and identify with them.
The other side of the story:
Daniel 12:10 “Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.”
Revelation 22:11 “He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy let him be holy still.”
Just as there is an exclusive place deep in the secret presence of our great God, so for the unsaved there is a place in the depths of Satan’s kingdom for them. Instead of light, love and a billion benefits, it is a prison with no keys, ruled by evil, darkness and hatred.
Isaiah 33:6 “Wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of your times and the strength of salvation; the fear of the Lord is His treasure,”
If we are moving into the deep things of God, we will be in a gloriously privileged position. Biblical exclusivity is not pride, although it can be if our attitude is wrong. True Biblical exclusivity simply means that you have entered into a place that is not accessible for everyone. It is like an exclusive club with a secret key.
The doorkeeper is none other than our Lord Himself. It is He who invites and welcomes in those who have paid the price.
It is really only from this extremely privileged place and position that we can draw others up into the same secret place. You can’t pick yourself up with your own shoe laces.

Which Christians for the tribulation:
Which Christians for the tribulation:
Right up front let me say that I believe in a soon-coming pre-tribulation rapture for the true church of the living God. (If you go to the “Editions by subject” index, you will find numerous editions on the pre-tribulation rapture.)
Be very sure of and know this fact well: There are two groups who go by the title “Christian”. One is true, of the truth, of our Lord, born of the Spirit of God, sanctified by the blood of the Lamb, empowered by the power of the cross of Calvary and destined for heaven. The other is of partial truth, is of “another Jesus”, rejects the totality of the gospel, and is destined for the tribulation and ultimately hell, if they do not repent in the tribulation period.
One is God’s church; the other is the world’s church.
Failed Christianity, the successful religion of the world:
Christianity that fits in with the world and its religions is failed Christianity. Bring it down to the world’s level of understanding. Make it acceptable to the masses. Keep the occult, Babylonian convocations of Christmas and Easter within it. Make the popular sins of the world part of Christian doctrine, or at least tolerate them. Remove the fullness of the Spirit of God from it, and cast down the veracity of the entirety of the Bible and you have the world’s version of Christianity!
What you now have is a religion that the world accepts, loves and can walk with in bliss. You now have a religion that is not offensive to the world. Just look at how the world loves Christmas! What you have is a religion centred on “another Jesus”, created by fallen man for fallen man. (Galatians 1:8, 2 Corinthians 11:3-4.)
Identifying the world’s church – failed Christianity.
Two great “EKs”
1) In the messages to the seven churches in the Revelation we see one of the great rapture verses and promises of God in the message to the church at Philadelphia. There is wide consensus that the term, “the hour of trial” refers to the tribulation period.
Revelation 3:10 “Because you have kept My word to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world to test those who dwell on the earth.”
In the verse above we have the term “keep you from”. In the original, this is the word “EK” (Strong’s G1537) and it means literally to keep one “clean out away from.” The word does not imply being “protected through.” It is in fact one of the wonderful rapture words!
2) Now let’s look at the second usage of the word “EK” a few verses further on:
Revelation 3:16 “Because you (Laodicea) are lukewarm and neither cold not hot, I will spew (vomit) you out of My mouth.”
The term in the verse above, “out of” is the original word “EK” (Strong’s G1537) and means “clean out away from.”
So, in the first usage we see a church being removed “clean out away from” the tribulation and in the second usage we see another part of the church being promised it will be removed “clean out away from” our Lord’s mouth or presence! This church obviously goes into the tribulation.
Now isn’t that very interesting? We have the same word with the same meaning being used for the pre-tribulation rapture of the church at Philadelphia, and for the casting into the tribulation for the Laodicean section of the church!
Let’s look a bit further:
In Revelation 3:16, the term “Spew out” (Strong’s G1692) is the original word “emeo”. It means, “To vomit or throw up, or to reject completely with extreme disgust and utter abhorrence”. Some translations use the term “spew out” instead of “vomit”. The word “vomit” is the original word though, and it has much better typology. Vomit is food that was inside of your stomach. It had become part of you and was about to become part of your blood stream, giving you energy. As believers we become part of the family of God. We are born-again of Him and His blood.
“Vomiting out” implies the complete rejection and ejection of this person. Some argue that these were not true believers in the first place. Well, again the word “vomit” implies that they were or are members of the church. But be that as it may, vomit ends up on the ground – outside “clean out away from” the body.
Whichever way you cut it, it’s not good news! We can safely presume that the Laodicean church are fully and totally rejected, cast out and go straight into the tribulation period.
●So there we have it! One “EK” is the rapture, clean out away from the tribulation and the other “Ek” is the expulsion, clean out away from God’s mouth into the tribulation!
Who is the church of Laodicea today?
The image below is the ruins of Laodicea. The city was originally called the city of Zeus. He was a Greek god of the sky, lightning, thunder, law and justice. Everything about this god was prime-evil!
Be aware that the word Laodicea comes from two root words meaning “people opinioned.”
There is a miraculous plot of the course of church history contained in the messages to the seven churches in the Revelation. I’m not going to get into it here and now, suffice to say that the plot really thickens as we go from Pergamos to Laodicea.
As revealed in Revelation 3:10, the central characteristic of Laodicea is being neither cold nor hot. This refers to no absolutes, no real difference between right and wrong. It means being tolerant of all values and having no Biblical virtues, accepting all faiths, elevating all human rights even those against God’s rights. It means having no judgement. It is the epitome of humanism. It is the epitome of being “people-opinioned or ruled!
Let me warn you. If you accept everything and won’t judge sin and evil, it WILL overtake you down the line, and you WILL end up with the Laodicean masses. You will end up serving and being part of the opinions of the masses, vomited out of God’s mouth!
But how did Laodicea get so far off course?
Revelation 2:12 describes the church of Pergamos as one to whom our Lord speaks with a “two-edged sword.” This most certainly refers to the dividing of truth and error which was greatly lacking in this church. The name Pergamos means “thoroughly married or mixed together”.
This mixing together has a similar meaning to being lukewarm.
In its historic application this church marked the era of Constantine who issued a decree of “toleration” allowing for pagan religious practices to merge with Christian truth. This church paved the way for the formation of the Catholic church – the church of Babylon.
What is important in these verses to some of the seven churches is the condemnation of the mixture of truth and error, right and wrong, satanic and godly doctrine and principles.
Today we have many churches that mix truth and error, right and wrong and try to justify it.
Today the Laodicean church would most certainly include most of the denominational churches, if not all, as well as others that fit the bill.
Laodicea – the cessationists:
There are of course individual exceptions to what I am presenting you with now. I am not suggesting that all cessationists are in the same boat, neither am I implying that all will go into the tribulation - not by any means.
Cessationism is the belief that the supernatural gifts of the Spirit ceased to exist on the death of the last apostle. They reject the baptism in the Spirit with the evidence of the gift of tongues. Some cessationists believe that God does still perform supernatural acts but just doesn’t use people!
Cessationsists believe that the supernatural gifts attributed to the early apostles were to verify and authenticate their ministries. They maintain that the gifts are not needed today as we now have the Bible to lead us.
On what or who’s authority do the cessationists stake their claim that the gifts ceased on the death of the last apostle? Where on earth does that presumption come from? Imagine the audacity of inventing such a far reaching and important doctrine based on the presumption of some Spirit-less, blind guide!
There is no verse indicating that the gifts were only needed to establish the veracity of the apostles. There is no verse indicating that the gifts would only be in operation for that very short duration of time during the ministry of the apostles.
Now let’s apply some other logic. It is these end-times in which our Lord warns numerous times, that deception will intensify to monumental proportions. It is in these last-days that the Bible speaks of masses falling away while others come to salvation. It is these last-days that are described as a time like no other, which has ever been or ever will be on this earth.
Does that sound like a time where the gifts are no longer needed? Come on now – you have to have the logic of a squashed flea to believe that. The logic of that is simply beyond words!
1 Corinthians 13:8-9 “Where there are prophecies, they will fail; where there are tongues they will cease; where there is knowledge, it will vanish away. We know in part and prophecy in part, but when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away with.”
Cessationists maintain that “the perfect which is to come” is the Bible, therefore tongues have ceased! Again what presumption to destroy an entire Bible-doctrine based on what some Spirit-less individual taught!
In verse 12 it says, “Then we shall see face to face.” The word “then” refers back to “when the perfect has come”. This is so clearly a reference to when we are in presence of our Lord. We could say it this way, “When the perfect comes, we will see face to face.” To try and say that that means when the Bible comes, is extremely short-sighted and wrong.
Why does the Bible identify two time-periods for the ending of the gift of prophecy and for the ending of tongues?
In the passage above where it says, “Tongues will cease”, the original word used means that the gift of tongues will cease in an instant, in a split second, while the other will dissipate over a period of time, which is the seven year tribulation.
►A perfectly logical interpretation of this means that tongues, which were given at the foundation of the church, exclusively for the church, will cease in an instant at the end of the church – or the rapture! That is when “we will see face to face”!
The rotten fruit of the cessasionists:
●A big fruit of the cessationist is the inability to properly see and distinguish between the kingdom of the world and the Kingdom of God, or to see the conflict between these two kingdoms.
●Almost without exception they are dry and semi-lifeless spiritually. In fact today they are falling away fast.
●They are creators of division especially doctrinal division within the church. All of the denominational churches are in fact churches of division. That is the meaning of the word denomination. The so-called reformers and creators of the denominations were all cessasionists apart from John Wesley.
●The cessationist view replaces the supernatural power of God with the energy and power of that individual’s own intellect, flesh, strength, and ideas. This is why it has caused so many divisions (denominations) and is also the root cause of so many within their persuasion falling away from the faith, as prophesied in the Bible.
●The big central issue with the cessationists is that they are powerless. There are so many issues and situations today where demonic activity and curses are directly involved. How can you even see them, never mind deal with them without the gifts?
If you want to have a battle in your Christian life, go their way. You will be operating in the energy of your own flesh, reason and strength. You will soon become stressed, tired and exhausted spiritually.
The tragedy of Laodicea is that our Lord stands outside and knocks on the door. He is not welcome here. Have all those sitting inside got a big surprise coming?
Opposition to the gifts:
There is some degree of justified opposition to the gifts of the Spirit as a result of the misuse of the gifts by many. But don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater!
Non-Spirit filled resistance to the gifts has a few common threads. One is: “Tongues doesn’t make sense” or what about those who misuse the gifts? What about this one or that one who fell? Just think about that argument. That’s the same as saying we must get rid of cars, because some people misuse and abuse them.
Misuse of a gift is no reflection on the gift. It’s a reflection on the turkey doing the misusing!
If God makes and gives provision for a successful Christian life, and you reject it, don’t be surprised when you don’t have a successful Christian life.
Some say they’ll believe when they see it. It’s not a case of when or if I see and understand it, then I’ll believe it. You must first come in, and then you will see.
Please remember that brain power is the counterfeit of God’s supernatural leading and working by, in and through the gifts of the Spirit.
The big bottom line:
There are so many prophetic passages of scripture showing a destroyed church side by side with a strong growing church in these last days. There are so many passages giving the reasons as well, yet so many people are going headlong towards the tribulation!
In the following passages we have a discourse specifically on the conditions of the “last days.”
2 Timothy 3:5 “These have a form of godliness, but deny its power. From such turn away.”
Jude 1: 19 “These are sensual (self or flesh motivated) persons who cause divisions, not having the Spirit. But you, beloved building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Spirit...”
There are many who have “a form or godliness but deny its power.” There are many who “cause division, not having the Spirit.”
The fruits and results of the cessationists are failure. They are in grave danger and they can’t see it. They must deal with numerous enemies that they can’t even identify or see, never mind deal with in spiritual authority.
It is in fact a sad, tragic story.
Hopefully many will wake up and remove themselves from Laodicea. If they don’t – tribulation is their future.
What many wishy washy Christians want is salvation without an interfering Saviour, heaven without holiness and all the glories of eternity without the inconvenient, politically incorrect Messiah Yeshua and His Bible. They think God is just what and who they think He is. They have created God in their own image and expect to be welcomed into heaven!
Only when you go God’s way will you find all that He is and has for you. To the believer obeying God, holiness is always fulfilling and attractive. Godly holiness has the sin stripped out. It has all evil removed. It has God’s Spirit in it. The “holiness” of the ones operating in their own strength is never fulfilling because it is humanistic in origin and practice.
They do what they deem to be right, measured according to the world and their own life-experience. It is the very essence of self-righteousness. This is the essence of what religion is.
People hate true Christianity because it is not a religion and therefore it’s not like them and can’t be tamed by them, their laws and works! They want religion to fit into the boxes of their creation, and true Christianity doesn’t fit into any box because it’s a living breathing organism attached to the living God.
The Christian religion is and always has been a failure. The Christian religion is the world’s version of Christianity!
Christianity is not a religion. It is a relationship into which you can only be born through blood and sustained by the living Spirit of God.
Some of the uses and effects of the full baptism in the Spirit:
●Edification ●Magnifying God ●Assurance of faith ●Unity ●Discernment ●Protection ●Spiritual warfare ●Authority ●Endurance ●Self control ● Prophetic insight ●Witnessing ●Praying God’s wishes and much more.
The great cleansers:
The final character and nature of the whole universe will be holy, pure and clean from all sin and evil. It will all be wonderfully glorious, magnificent and beyond our imagination.
►If you want a glimpse of our glorious future, please have a look at Edition 197 HERE.
●There is one big great cleanser. It is the cross of Calvary and the shed blood of our Lord.
●There is another big, great, tragic cleanser. It is called the seven year tribulation period encompassing the wrath and judgement of God upon this world. It will cleanse the world for the Millennium.
●There is a final great, and eternally tragic cleanser called hell, but nobody comes out of it.
How wise it is to choose the free gift of God, salvation through the cross of Messiah now!
The following verse is perhaps a great shock to many. Some will reject it flat out. Many will argue with it and deny it. Many church ministers will and do water it down, or avoid it all together. It is politically incorrect.
Hebrews 12:14 “...Without holiness, no one will see the Lord.”
Holiness apart from being wonderfully attractive is a very powerful force. It is a Godly force. It is a power and force stemming right from the heart of the living God.
Why is holiness such an attractive thing and also hated by so many? I know in my life, that in the last few years, holiness, purity and truth have become such a passionate desire and driving force.
It really is quite simple. Everything about our Lord is true, pure and holy. The eternal future after judgement will be pure and holy forever. As you draw near to this incredible God, so the beauty of His holiness becomes apparent, and draws you right into it, and infuses into you.
Holiness is a fruit of the new birth and following our Lord.
One of the most powerful ways and means to know if a church and its leader are on course with our Lord is visible in the fruits, specifically holiness, but also in this truth: Is your church aware of the fast approaching tribulation period and does it have knowledge, understanding and wisdom to deliver you from it?
My friends, the tribulation period is coming fast. If you land up in it, you will still be able to get saved, although the tribulation saints will be somewhat different.
It is very dangerous to try and escape the coming tribulation in your own strength.
Revelation 16:15 “Behold I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walks naked and they see his shame.”
Matthew 24:43-44 “Know this that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore, you also be ready, for the Son of Man comes at an hour when you do not expect Him.”
Revelation 3:3 “...If you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief and you will not know what hour I come upon you.”
1 Thessalonians 5:2-6 “You yourselves know that the Day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night, for when they say ‘peace and safety!’ then sudden destruction comes upon them as labour pains upon a pregnant woman and they shall not escape. But you brethren are not in the darkness, so that this day should overtake you as a thief...therefore let us not sleep as others do, but let us watch.”

What we will be rewarded for and not:
What we will be rewarded for and not:
1 Corinthians 3:12-15 “If anyone builds on this foundation (salvation in Messiah) with gold, silver and precious stones, wood, hay, and straw, each one’s work will become manifest; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yes so as through fire.”
Daniel 12:3 “Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.”
What’s the culmination, end purpose and point of the Christian life? It is the resurrection and journey into eternity. It is the fulfilling and completion of God’s call and plan for you. It is the eternal reward state of all true believers in the Kingdom of our great King.
But there’s one little snag! The Bible says: “Those who were ready went in”! If it says, “those who were ready went in”, logically it means that those who were not ready did not go in; which is in fact brought out clearly in that parable of the ten virgins.
Are you ready? Do you have enough “oil in your lamps” to get through this deep, dark and dangerous end-time night?
Are you on course with our Lord? The world is on course with its god! (Ephesians 2:2) The world is on course for its eternal reward – judgement to hell!
If you are on course with God, you will not be on the world’s course. You will overcome the world (1John 5:4) and you will be hated by those of the world (John 15:18) as evidence that you are on the right course.
It is incorrect to have the attitude of service to the Lord for reward. We serve the Lord out of love simply because it is right and because He has asked us to – that’s enough of a reason. But our Lord has promised reward and revealed to us many details about the rewards.
I know my attitude is one of service because I love my Lord, reward or not!
You are not here by chance. You are here by design, with purpose, a plan, meaning and a specific call. You are part of an exclusive giant, beautiful, wonderful, majestic, multifaceted body, destined for eternal glory and many things no one can even imagine.
Do you know where you are going?
“Idiot driver...don’t you know where you’re going”? How many times have you heard that or even said it while someone does a U-turn in front of you? I know I have.
It’s a good idea to have an idea where you’re going before you get in the car, or at least to have some idea of what your destination looks like, -that’s so obvious isn’t it?
Unfortunately far too many Christians have no idea where they are going. It’s a hit and miss life, ruled by chance and haphazard ideas and principles dictated by multitudes of voices from foreign gods. They’re like sheep – all blindfolded following one another!
Getting to know your specific call in our Lord’s kingdom is as involved as getting to know our Lord Himself, but it is easy if we apply the right principles. That’s the problem though; there are so many voices out there all contesting for our attention.
Our primary focus must be the word of God as revealed and inspired by the Spirit of God in our hearts. We are not to blindly follow like blinded sheep! There’s a very big difference in following our Lord like sheep with our eyes and minds open, and simply following blindly.
If you are seeking and finding the Lord, what will you find?
There are many fruits and characteristics of people who are seeking, finding and still wanting more of the deeper things of God. There are characteristics of those who have encountered the presence of God. Some things would be individual and personal and some things universal to all.
These are just a handful of the more general fruits:
You will see the world as already judged and destroyed.
Jeremiah 4:26 “The fruitful land was a wilderness and all its cities were broken down at the presence of the Lord, by His fierce anger.”
Hebrews 13:14 “For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come.”
How do you see the world? Is your life a “continuing city” in this world? Or do you see it all as already judged and finished?
Here is the opposite of the two verses above:
2 Peter 3:3-4 "Know this that in the last days scoffers will come, walking according to their own lusts and saying ‘Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”
So here it is: Are you comfortable here in the world? Do you see it as a continuation? Sorry, if you do, you don’t know God one little bit!
The “great comfort” for the believer on course with our Lord is in being “caught up” out of this world and not being comfortable in it! (1 Thessalonians 4:18)
If you are truly seeking and finding our Lord your self-life (also termed the flesh) will be shattered and broken.
Matthew 24:44 “Whoever falls on this rock (Yeshua) will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.”
1 Corinthians 1:29 “No flesh shall glory in His presence.”
Zechariah 2:13 “Be silent all flesh before the Lord...”
Do you still argue with God about the rights of the homosexual or the abortionist? Do you still argue with God about what He has, is, and will bring to judgement? Are you, like many Christians, still full of yourself and all your great worldly opinions?
I’m afraid you are a nothing. You don’t know God one little bit. If you did your opinions would be His.
Can you even see or sense their presence? Do you entertain demons in your heart as you entertain yourself in front of the great satanic god Hollywood? Do you justify the foul language and blasphemy of the entertainment world?
Do demons obey you and leave when commanded, or do they make themselves at home in your life because of your lifestyle, which is welcoming to them?
If you are on the right course with our Lord, there will be a freedom deep in your heart on all these issues. You’ll just know it!
Some personal testimony:
Of course there are many ways and methods to seek the presence of our Lord. I would like to share with you some of my own personal testimony in this regard. I do so without any motivations except to help you.
In the late 70s I began to get desperate to know my Lord more. I had a very successful job as a journalist, photographer, and war correspondent, working all around the world. I became very frustrated with the world. It simply couldn’t fulfil or satisfy me anymore. I found it very difficult after getting saved in 1976 to get to know this God whom I knew was now my Lord.
After leaving the media world, I set my heart to seek, search and know my Lord. I went on many long fasts, denying myself and studying the scriptures through various Bible courses and study programs. As I moved on, I discovered how little I knew and how much more, I want to know my Lord.
I drew up a “denial of self” list and set various things to eradicate from my life. These were not necessarily sinful things, just the things of the world. I decided to make my list as radical and costly to my normal ways as possible.
This list marked a wonderful transition point in my life. As I progressed in keeping all the points on my list, so my Lord filled those gaps with an overflowing of His presence.
I knew I had found something incredible. I had found one of the keys to deep peace... to the very presence of my Lord. The changes in me that I sought began to become more and more of a reality.
This denial list had become so important that I thought other believers would also think much the same thing. Was I ever wrong about that!
I shared my list and fasting methods with a few people. They politely said “that’s interesting”, but they resented it. I shared a few of those things a few times in some churches and was met with argument, resistance, and cynicism. Luckily, I had some friends on the same journey with me, so we supported each other, but I found only a strange resistance from many.
Actually, the resistance inspired me on further, but I was surprised at it, so I very rarely share my list.
Denying self is a completely useless exercise if not done by, in and through the leading of the Holy Spirit. It is only then that it yields results.
Included in my desperate search to know my God more intimately and deeply, I often went off into the deserts and wild places nearby. Removing myself from civilization was to me a very valuable time.
Draw up your own denial list, pray over it, and let our Lord draw you into it, while at the same time seeking Him in prayer, fasting and Bible study.
Some characteristics of eternity:
In various passages of scripture we get glimpses of eternity and our eternal state.
We see that believers in heaven maintained their central characters. This would of course be with all the sin and negative traits removed. But essentially we keep our recognisable identity.
We see that people had knowledge of each other and recollection of when here on earth. We will know our family and friends. We see that people had full recollection of their lives on earth.
We see that there is a full consciousness and knowledge of conditions in heaven in great detail. We see that our brains will suddenly “know all things just as we are known by our Lord.”
Here are some very insightful verses dealing with rewards:
Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, do it heartily as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance, for your service to the Lord.”
Isaiah 40:10 “Behold the Lord will come with a strong hand, and His arm shall rule for Him. Behold His reward is with Him.”
Daniel 12:3 “Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.”
Mark9:41 “Whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Messiah, assuredly I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.”
1 Peter 5:4 “When the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.”
Hebrews 10:35 “Do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.”
Hebrews 11:6 “Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for He who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
Revelation 2:10 “Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed the devil is about to throw some of you into prison that you may be tested and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.”
What Christians will not be rewarded for?
People will not be rewarded for a successful life and trying their best. People will not be rewarded for going to church, being good, helping others, or following the ways of the world and being politically correct. People will not be rewarded for being like everyone else and being a sheep of the world. People will not be rewarded for towing the line of the ways of the world!
What we will be rewarded for:
Compiled from numerous verses:
●We will be rewarded for being successful in following our Lord’s call and following Him.
●We will be rewarded for obeying the voice of God in that “still small voice” in our hearts.
●We will be rewarded for denying self and taking up our own cross.
●We will be rewarded for doing good in His name.
●We will be rewarded for separating and detaching ourselves from the world system.
●We will be rewarded for laying the axe at the roots of sin and walking in holiness.
●We will be rewarded for fearing our Lord, knowing Him deeply and operating in His power.
●We will be rewarded for getting ready for His coming, watching and warning others.
●We will be rewarded for knowing the signs of the times.
●We will be rewarded for judging between right and wrong from a Biblical point of view.
●We will be rewarded for obeying the law of the Spirit in our hearts as revealed in epistles.
●We will be rewarded for our attitudes, prayer, and actions relating to Israel.
There are numerous other things mentioned throughout the Bible that will bring reward.
It is also very important to understand that these rewards will in some way be built into our future resurrection state and will be eternal. The rewards will also bring position and authority to believers in the eternal Kingdom.
And of course let’s not forget that we will all suffer loss of some reward for the dumb things we have done!
The Jews, the land of Israel and the city of Jerusalem:
This is so exciting to write about! This subject is so full of gravity, truth, error, love, hatred, conflict and peace. I am constantly shocked at how ignorant most Christians are on the subject and just as shocked at how deceived so many churches are about it all.
The Bible is rich with many entire portions of scripture on the repentance of Israel in these last days. There are also numerous types and shadows throughout the scriptures.
In fact our Lord is so strongly committed to His plan for Israel that He has promised many blessings and rewards for those who are with Him. And there are many curses promised for those who come against God and His word on this issue.
Isaiah 62:1 “For Zion’s sake I will not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness and her salvation as a lamp that burns.”
Psalm 129:5 “Let them all be confounded and turned back who hate Zion.”
Obadiah 1:10 “For your (Esau – a type of the modern Palestinians) violence against your brother Jacob (Jews) shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off forever.”
Genesis 12:3 “I will bless those who bless you (Israel), and I will curse him who curses you.”
Ezekiel 20:41-42 “I will accept you as a sweet aroma when I bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you have been scattered; and I will be hallowed in you before the Gentiles. Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for which I lifted My hand in an oath to give to your fathers.”
Psalm 122:6 “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you.”
Zechariah 3:2 “The Lord said to Satan, ‘The Lord rebuke you Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire’?”
Zechariah 1:17 “My cities shall again spread out through prosperity. The Lord will again comfort Zion, and will again choose Jerusalem.”
Zechariah 12:2-3 “Behold I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away (divide it), will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.”
Romans 10:1 “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved.”
Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Messiah, for it is the power of God to salvation, for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek (Gentile).”
Matthew 10:6 “Go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel (the Jews).”
Joel 3:2 “I will gather all nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgement with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land.”
Micah 4:11. “Now many nations have gathered against you, who say, ‘Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion.’ But they do not know the thoughts of the Lord, nor do they understand His counsel; for He will gather them like sheaves for the threshing floor.”
Most people think that they will automatically be rewarded for giving to or helping the poor. But as revealed earlier, it is really only what is done in His name and as a result of His leading that is rewarded.
Our Lord is not politically correct.
Matthew 25:28-29 “Take the talent from him and give it to him who has ten talents. For to everyone who has, more will be given and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.”
No, no, no God – you’ve got it wrong. You don’t give to the one who has! You give to the one who doesn’t have! Come on God – don’t you know that we must level the playing field and make everyone equal?
Note from this verse, above (and there are many more like it) that God gives to those who have.
I know a woman who gives to a poor beggar frequently. The beggar has remained a beggar for many years. I know another woman who gave to a beggar, led her to the Lord and into deliverance from generational curses, setting her free. She is not a beggar anymore.
Don’t give up! If you have really messed up your life or even just parts of it – don’t give up! Our Lord may well be allowing you to fall so that His ultimate purposes may be revealed.
►Daniel 11:35 “Some of those of understanding shall fall, to refine them, purge them, and make them white until the time of the end; it is still for an appointed time.”
Psalm 16:11 “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy.”
We must have eternity set in our hearts looking to the things we can’t see.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in their hearts.”
I took this picture of these gentle giants and good friends in the Savuti region of Botswana.
