Shabbat Shalom to all!
Some mistakes and presumptions:
My job is not just to go with the flow. It is to help, inspire and lead us into all truth. That involves identifying error.
My job is to stick a sword in your heart (sometimes) and make you feel good about it.
In these days, doctrinal error is a pandemic. It need not be so for you. Our God is not a God of confusion. Satan is!
There are doctrinal errors that are not of importance. Others can rock your faith!
Some are a real game changer, when you see the truth in them!
Here are a few end-time errors doing the rounds today. Some are important and some not so:
●Without the centrality of the cross you can get by: No you can’t. This is the single biggest error ever, which will send you on a roller-coaster to hell. Without it and its personal application, in daily cross-bearing, you will be left powerless and under the deception of your own power of self and human reasoning.
●The absence of the baptism in the Spirit will get you by: It will get you by as a failure. The failure to use the gifts and the armour of God is an error that will see you deceived and defeated in these days – for sure!
●Mistake = “The great apostasy”: The term is not in the Bible! (2 Thessalonians 2:3) “The falling away,” correctly interpreted means the departure, or removal of the church in rapture. (See edition 517 for more) Some other verses do speak of deteriorating faith amongst certain churches.
●Mistake= “No one knows the day or hour” of the rapture: The term is not in the Bible! (Matthew 24:36) “Of this day and hour, no one knows,” is the correct term. If you read all the surrounding verses, they refer to the condition in the tribulation period. In context, it has nothing at all to do with the rapture – go and read the chapter, not just the verse.
●Mistake= The rapture is imminent; it could happen anytime as there are no signs for it: This is wrong. There are numerous signs for of the tribulation period and the dispensation change from the church age to the final seven years. A pre-tribulation rapture therefore has all of those signs as well.
If the rapture / tribulation start does not occur on a feast of trumpets, it would leave that feast unfulfilled and the remaining ones out of sync. That alone is a huge weight of evidence. The pattern of exact, to the day, literal fulfilment of the prophetic aspect of the feasts is clearly revealed in the fulfilments of the previous five feasts.
●Mistake= “The days of the tribulation will be shortened”: (Matthew 24:22) No they will not be shortened. The word usage means that the days of the tribulation period are cut out in time. The seven year period is the cut-out period. It does not mean actual days will not be 24 hours anymore. (Numerous commentaries support this)
●Mistake= “End-time knowledge shall increase: (Daniel 12:4) this, quite simply means that knowledge of these particular end-time events will increase as they near. General knowledge of all sorts, expanding over time, is no sign at all. It is obvious.
●Mistake= “The antichrist will confirm an existing peace treaty / covenant: (Daniel 9:27) so, what covenant would that be? There is no existing seven-year covenant, which identified the antichrist, which involves the rebuilt temple, or fits the requirements of Daniel 9:27 and others.
The word means to make a “strong covenant.” The Amplified Bible has it right – read it.
●Mistake= The Abrahamic Accords are the Daniel 9:27 peace treaty, because they use the term, “peace and safety”. That is pure short-sighted hogwash, presented largely by the always wrong brigade. (I have much more, shocking and very surprising things to share on this. I just need to find a place to fit it in.)
●Mistake= The cause of end-time judgements: There is a great variety of opinions here, some are most reasonable, some are not, and some are plainly insane. The general consensus among the mature, long standing pastors and teachers, which I fully concur with, is that the reasons are that “light” and “salt” (the church) has gone dim relating to the worldwide pandemic of abortion, homosexuality and other sins of rebellion to the word of God.
The insane presumption is that God has brought all the world troubles, like the corona virus on the world, because Trump divided Israel. Trump has not divided Israel, the “Deal of the Century” has not been ratified and is null and void.
To say that God brought the virus and other judgments on the world because Trump divided Israel is to play right into the hands of the devil and make a mockery of God. It is misdirection away from the real causes.
●Mistake= “The blood will run to the horses bridles for 1600 stadia (1 stadia =630 ft. The length is 1,008,000 ft.) (Revelation 14:20) This does not mean that the blood will run that deeply during the wrath of God. It is physically impossible for blood to run that far and deep.
The verse likens the situation to a horse trampling the grapes under a tribulum (wine press), which gets splattered with grape juice up to the horses bridles. (Isaiah 63:2, Revelation 19:13)
●Mistake= End-time signs are for the church: This is a widespread and deeply entrenched error. The truth is that end-time signs are primarily for Israel, and the unbeliever, and occur within Israel’s divided dispensation (Old Covenant and seven-year tribulation.) True signs are supernatural events. The church is not to be led by signs! We are led by the Spirit of God. If it’s a true supernatural sign, it will influence and draw people in to be saved. If it’s a lying sign it will wreck the faith of many, when discovered as a lie. (The classic was the Revelation 12-sign – lie, which wrecked the faith of many when it failed.)
Bear in mind that biblical truth roars. It bites and devours as it confronts. It also comforts and edifies, when you’re on the right side. The Jewish Lion and the Lamb is the essence of truth! It is not to be taken lightly, trivialised or changed. Truth is the Lamb and the Lion, not the Catholic ham and bunny.
If you are out in the wild African bush, there is a continuous symphony and chorus of natures beautiful sounds. When a nearby lion begins to roar, all else falls silent. I have observed that personally many times – it’s incredible. When the King speaks even the air reverberates and others shut up.
Today we are not seeing very much talk or teaching on the growing proliferation of demonic activity. This sets up many for defeat.
These are the days in which you need full on spiritual warfare.
The message of the word to the world must be alive with the Spirit of God, and when rightly applied it will convict, rebuke, alarm you, disturb you, and pull the carpet out from under you.
Soon coming judgement could be the day of your greatest rejoicing ever, or the beginning of you eternal regret. It will be one or the other, you can bank on that and you will not wiggle out of it.
The prophetic word is a navigator in troubled times. But today the prophetic word is being assaulted from without and within.
Edition 230 October 22nd 2014
Sin, Judgement, Peace:
Sin, Judgement, Peace:
If you are a human being you were born in sin and have been living in sin. You were born with the blood of Adam flowing in your veins. The sin-nature resides in your flesh and you can do nothing about that yourself.
You can try to be good or you can try to keep any set of laws, but you are still in sin. Your good works are as filthy rags. Satan may say to you, just as he did to Adam, “If you eat of this tree you’ll be full of knowledge, and you’ll be as God” But he is a liar. You can eat of any tree of knowledge you like and you’re going to hell.
You can go to Oxford, Cambridge, Yale, Princeton, Harvard, or you can become a NASA astronaut and go the moon, but you’re ultimately going to hell, because you are a sinner, born and bred.
Satan’s trees of knowledge are a useless substitute for God’s tree of salvation – the cross of Calvary!
Romans 5:12 “Just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because all sinned.”
1 Peter 2:24 “He bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we having died to sins, might live for righteousness - by whose stripes we are healed.”
You may say that it’s not your fault but Adam’s fault. He would say its Satan’s fault!
What is your fault is that you have not utilised God’s free way out of it all if you’re not born again.
The terrible consequence of living in your sin-nature is that it creates tension, torment, stress and an entire life that is wrong, because it’s not God’s way.
God has provided the way out of a doomed life of sin and into a new life of peace. It is the way of judgement with His miracle-working, transforming power.
God’s judgement fell on our substitute, Yeshua. He took all sin upon Himself and offers us all the free exchange of His judgement for our freedom.
What is sin?
To even begin we must define what sin is and to do this we have to go straight to the law of God. It is the Ten Commandments that define sin. Can you see the problem right up front? Today very few churches speak or teach on the law. It’s not popular today. At the same time these churches that won’t teach on the law, never talk of sin or Satan or hell.
Have you noticed that Satan, sin and hell are not even spoken about these days by the church, whose chief job it is!
This is proof supreme of a church minister who does not know his Bible, or has rejected part of it. It’s just the same as those who won’t teach on eschatology. End-time Bible prophecy makes up 27% of the Bible. So if you won’t teach it you are cutting out a huge part of God’s word and you will go astray when the pressure is on – that’s a guarantee.
The Bible declares that the “law is the schoolmaster to lead us the Messiah.”
The minister that won’t teach on the law, sin, Satan and hell is concealing a growing, powerful danger. He is hiding, obscuring and camouflaging these great dangers from the sheep. He should be shot at dawn.
You can’t get rid of sin:
A sinner can’t get rid of sin himself. You can’t lift yourself up by your shoe laces. You need someone from the outside to do it. It’s like a repentant bank robber wanting to be free from that sin. He needs a judge to tell him is now free. True, deep freedom full of joy and peace comes from the power of the cross.
You can try to be better and good or you can try to keep the law. Both ways will land you in hell, because you are still in your sin if you are not born-again.
The funny thing is that not one law-keeper on this planet can keep the law. They are all liars, every one of them. But the person under liberty is a different “animal”. Initially he may battle to walk free from sin, but if correctly applied, the cross will begin to transfer supernatural power to you.
Amazingly, for the believer God has removed all sin for free. So the believer walks from liberty to powerful sin-free liberty.
John 1:29 “John saw Yeshua coming toward him, and said, ‘Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.’”
The real good news:
For the born-again believer the most wonderful news is that sin has been removed and destroyed. In Messiah we are sin-free. All sin has been removed by and though the cross of Calvary. But more than that, we are given the free gift of power to overcome the lingering sins still in us. This power comes only through the cross of Calvary.
For the believer, sin has been removed. For the unbeliever, sin is ever present with its power.
Psalm 103:12 “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgression from us.”
Let me share an interesting mind bending thought with you: If you start at the North Pole heading down, you will be going south until you get to the South Pole. Then you will be going north until you get to the North Pole again. But if you start on the equator and head west you will always be going west. Likewise if you start off going east, you will always be going east.
Do you see that our sins have been removed that far? Never the twain shall meet! (God said that before the Moody Blues!)
How the miracle works
Look at the image above. If you die at any point before the cross (salvation) you are not saved. If you die at any point after the cross, you are saved even while you have sins in your life, which are decreasing.
It’s like a fruit tree. Kill it at the root and may still have fruit on it, but they will die and fall off. Sin has been slain and sins decrease and drop off.
2 Corinthians 5:21 “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
Before we are born again, sin is ever present in us and in many cases grows. Once we are born again, the cross of our Messiah destroys sin and its power. The person who dies in this state will be saved, even if he is still battling to get rid of sins.
My friends, excuse me for a bit of personal testimony: After I was saved I still had many sins hindering me, but I hated them like never before. I was aware and conscious of an inner holiness trying to work itself to the outside.
After much battling, one day I woke up and just knew I was free...and so it was. The battle with sins actually takes as long as you want it to, but you must apply the right tools. In my case it was desperate prayer, fasting and denying self!
Don’t say, “You’re not perfect.” Yes you are. That perfection is right in the very heart of your re-created being. You are holy and righteous through the new-birth. The sins that get in the way of all of us from time to time are in our outward or flesh life.
We do not get saved when we are perfect, but when we are lost in our sins, and then the power of the cross, having saved us, cleans us up bit by bit. God will never impute sin to a believer.
The judgement of the cross has justified us forever.
The cross removed sin therefore there is no sin that we can be judged for. But if you reject the cross you are still in your sin and the only way you get rid of sin is by keeping the law which you can’t do to start with because you don’t have the power to do so, from the cross.
Note in the verse below that we are saved and “being saved.” The latter refers to the ongoing work of the cross in our lives.
1 Corinthians 1:18 “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”
So, we as believers are free from day one in terms of judgement for sin and we continue forward being delivered from sins, because its power has been broken.
Dividing the word:
Regular readers know that I’ve spoken at length about how the devil gets at believers. He attacks us through the areas of the flesh nature, the world system and the demonic.
But thanks be to God here is the answer for the believer in each area:
Galatians 6:14 “God forbid that I should glory except in the cross of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah by whom the world was crucified to me and I to the world.”
Galatians 5:24 “Those who are in Messiah have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”
Romans 6:6 “Know this, that our old man (sin nature) was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with; that we should no longer be slaves of sin.”
Matthew 16:24-25 “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”
Colossians 2:14-15 “Our Messiah has wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was contrary to us and taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers (demons), He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”
Note the consistency in the verses above. The world, the flesh and the demonic are all dealt with by the cross of Calvary (at the root) and them by us taking up our own cross daily.
Arguments against liberty:
People who argue that liberty and grace can be used as a licence to sin don’t think further than their noses. In fact their thinking is so polluted with Satan himself that they can’t see it. Firstly if their argument was right, what would they do about it?
The answer is shocking. They would remove grace and liberty and replace it with law! You can’t live by both, says the Bible! It’s one or the other. The ones who object to liberty being used as a licence to sin are themselves chief sinners! Their answer is to bring people back under the law and therefore into sin.
Liberty and grace are a wonderful inspiration to live right! If you use your liberty to sin, perhaps you’re not saved and don’t know the wonders of freedom from sin. But because it can be misused and it is, that doesn’t mean you remove it. It means you use it correctly.
The hyper-grace movement is an abomination. Avoid it, but don’t think you must now remove grace and replace it with law because it is misused!
We as believers are incorruptible children of God rather than sinners. His chastisement is for our betterment not payment for sin (i.e. soteriological rather than condemnatory.) Our sins can affect our fellowship with God but not our relationship. Our sins will also have consequences in terms of our eternal reward state.
Do you think God knows whether you are using liberty to sin? Of course He does. If you misuse His gift, you will not lose your salvation, but you will lose reward. So there are consequences for the person using liberty to sin.
What sins will be judged:
►As far as the unsaved go and those outside of the work of the cross of Calvary, they will be judged for everything. The Revelation pictures these tragic individuals at the Great White Throne Judgement. The Lamb’s Book of Life is opened and their names are not there. Then their book of works is opened and they are found wanting and cast into hell.
The unbeliever will be judged for every single sin, even of thought and every single good work as well, because the works done outside of the purifying work of the cross are as “filthy rags.”
Here is a shocking example of good being bad with God:
The world’s hedonistic desire and search for peace is its biggest sin which is about to evoke the fury and wrath of God! God has always destroyed man’s attempt to reach Him and His peace without going His way, through the cross.
►The true believer on the other hand will be judged for the following sins: NONE. Not one, none at all! No sins of the past, present or future will come under judgement for the believer! Do you get the picture? Isn’t that just incredible?
Look at the image above. It represents the fiery judgement of God falling on all that is of this world. But as the judgement does its cleansing work, there is a promise ahead, represented in the rainbow. Quite simply, the cross hurts and burns and destroys, but then delivers us to a wonderful new pure, clean and holy life.
You are free my friend. And you are in perfect liberty. But let me tell you that if you are a true believer and if you are drawing near to our great God of purity and magnificent holiness, you won’t even want to misuse that liberty.
It is only those who far from God and wrapped up in self that would want to continue to sin.
The terrible end-time judgements:
All the terrible judgments of the tribulation period are upon a Messiah- rejecting world. What terror! The people of the world will even turn on God in this time and condemn Him rather than take the offer of salvation.
So God turns up the heat, and then some more, and still people rebel. The terrors of the tribulation will see about 4 billion people die and many horrible deaths. Then after it all, they will face the judgement of God and an eternity in hell.
Degrees of judgement:
As there will be eternal differences or degrees of reward for believers in heaven, so there will be degrees of punishment in hell.
Hebrews 10:29 “How much worse punishment do you suppose he will be thought worthy of who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of Grace.”
Mark 12:38 “Beware of the scribes who desire to go around in long robes, love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues and feats...and make long prayers. These will receive a greater condemnation.”
The mass media like CNN, BBC, Sky and others will receive the greatest judgement and condemnation – the greatest eternal punishment, simply because they have propagated the ways of the world and opposed the ways of the word of God. “Woe to the world for its stumbling blocks” says the Bible.
The loss of reward is the judgement the believer comes under for using his liberty as licence to sin.
The Church today:
I have just had a Pastor friend staying with me on Sabbatical for a few weeks. While here, he visited some churches in the area. He said he was shocked that none had any Israel message or end- time message.
He said that they were all promoting a me-centred, motivational message with no urgency or eyes for anything outside of their tradition.
If your quest for truth is with ministers of churches and movements, you’re in trouble.
Here’s a good way to evaluate your church:
●Does the minister speak about end-time things?
●Does he teach on God’s word relating to Israel, the Jews and Jerusalem?
●Does he teach about sin, Satan, hell, judgement?
●Does he teach the pre-eminence of the cross of Messiah and how to apply it?
●Does he teach on the world, the flesh and the demonic?
●Does he warn of very present dangers?
Beware the church that serves its people. Beware the church that is loving and compassionate. Beware the church of man-pleasers! The church is to be a God pleaser first and last!! Serving the people is always secondary.
The great big qualification for any church leader:
2 Corinthians 5:15 “He died for all that those who live should no longer live for themselves, (cross) but for Him who died for them and rose again.”
You see, once your life is surrendered to the Lord in totality and He has cleaned out every “room” in your life, then you are fit to be “distributed” by God to His people – not before! You think gaining lots of members is good. It may be so, but if it involves your compromise with the world – you are a fraud and a counterfeit. You have presumed your leadership!
Before you, my friends are oceans of peace, great peace, inexplicable, incomparable and indescribable. In fact language can’t do it justice.
You have one of two life’s journeys before you, like it, believe it or not. You are going from sin to endless torment or sin to endless peace.
The way to be free from sin is not by trying but by dying! (Dying to the world, the flesh and the demonic.)
Colossians 3:3-4 “For you died and your life is hidden with Messiah in God. When our Messiah who is your life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.”
Peace with God is the only peace that endures and has depth with it. Peace by doing things God’s way is the way to go. Inner deep peace is one of the fruits of reconciliation with our Lord.
Imagine the Great God, King Lord, Saviour and Prince of Peace saying, “This is the way to deep, glorious eternal peace” and you say to this God and His word – “Who do you think you are telling me what to do – go jump. I’ll do it my way.”
Revelation 22:11 “He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.”
Do you see why the Gospel is good news? What great salvation we have!!
Psalm 19:9 “The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the judgements of the Lord are true and altogether righteous.”
Matthew 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
Malachi 3:17 “They shall be Mine says the Lord of hosts, on the day that I make them My jewels.”
This is a pile of huge rocks known as “Bulls Party” in Namibia, near the beautiful Spitzkoppe and Brandberg Mountains in the midst of endless wild desert about 500 kms in length. This area of the desert is one of my favourite places. (Those are two people at the bottom of the picture.)
