Shabbat (Sabbath) begins on Fridays at 6pm and ends on Saturdays at 6pm. The purpose is to help the church and Israel become reconciled in Messiah and to identify the rift, and the needed restoration. There is much in the church that needs to change before it can be fully reconciled with the Jew. Likewise, changes in Jewish thinking are also needed.

Shabbat Shalom to all!
The tree-huggers delight:
The Bible uses plants, trees, colours, animals, birds, numbers and more to describe people and nations. It is the subliminal symbols that are of great significance and meaning, especially in relation to Israel.
Did you realise that the entire course of Israel’s history is plotted in the trees? There is much more to these symbols and metaphors - for another time.
Here are some amazing messages blowing in the wind, relating to Israel.
►The Olive tree: (Romans 11)
These trees have very deep, well established roots. They are sometimes called eternal trees, because they are so hardy; they live for many thousands of years. An ancient olive tree appears to die, but then miraculously, new shoots appear out of the dead wood continuing its existence.
The olive tree produces a rich olive oil which has numerous uses, but is also a type of the Holy Spirit. Olive oil is required to keep the temple menorah flames burning. This symbolises light. Olive tree leaves are symbols of peace. Remember the dove bringing back an olive branch to the ark after the flood of judgement.
The root of the olive tree is symbolic of God Himself. The root is called, “holy.”
Biblically, there are two olive trees of importance. The natural olive tree, is symbolic of Israel, and the wild olive tree, is symbolic of the church. The wild olive branch was “grafted” into the natural olive tree, thus partaking of the goodness of the root.
The national emblem of Israel includes two olive branches.
An ancient olive tree grove:
►The Fig tree:
The fig tree is symbolic of spiritual fruitfulness after severe pruning or judgement. It relates to Israel in the tribulation period, awakening to spiritual life.
The fig tree is unique in that its blossoms appear before the leaves. It should have fruit appearing before the leaves. This is why our Lord cursed the unfruitful fig tree, causing it to die. The root was not destroyed though, and a new tree full of fruit, is about to appear.
When the disciples asked out Lord what would be the sign of His coming, He listed a number of judgements to fall on the world. But one of these was the sign of the fig tree.
Matthew 24:32-34 “learn the parable of the fig tree: When is branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that the summer is near. So also you when you see all these things, know that it is near, even at the very doors. Assuredly, I say to you, ‘this generation (of Jews) will be no means pass away till all these things are fulfilled.’”
Present day Zionism and the awakening of the Jews, as well as modern anti-Semitism are signs of the fig tree putting forth leaves and about to produce much spiritual fruit.
►The Almond tree:
The almond is the first tree to flower in its season, which at the end of winter. The flower has five petals to it, five being the number of grace. The temple menorah, a symbol of light, has oil cups or containers in the shape of almond flowers.
The Hebrew word for “almond” is “shakeid” which also means to “awake” and “watch”.
The almond is symbolic of Messiah’s resurrection. It speaks of the supernatural power of God as seen in Aaron’s almond branch that budded in one day. (Numbers 17:8)
Jeremiah 1:11-14 “The word of the Lord came to me saying, ‘Jeremiah, what do you see?’ I said, ‘I see the branch of an almond tree.’ Then the Lord said, ‘you have seen well for I am about to perform My word.’ And the word of the Lord came to me a second time, saying, ‘what do you see? And I said, a boiling pot and it is facing away from the north.’ Then the Lord said to me: ‘Out of the north calamity shall break forth on all the inhabitants of the land.’”
The message here is that as the almond (Israel) flowers and buds she will be plunged into the tribulation period.
Jeremiah 31:28 “It shall come to pass that as I have watched over them to pluck up, to break down, to throw down, to destroy and to afflict them, so I will watch over them to build and plant says the Lord. In those days they shall say no more, ‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes...’”
Psalm 80:8-9 “You have brought a vine out of Egypt, You have cast out the nations and planted it. You prepared room for it, and caused it to take deep root and it filled the land.”
This vine, Israel, is described as “the choicest vine.” But it is a vine that also has within it a “winepress.” (Isaiah 5:1-2) The “winepress” speaks of the crushing tribulation to come!
God planted Israel as a “noble vine” of the highest quality, yet it became an alien, degenerate vine. This speaks of Israel's rebellion to Messiah. (Jeremiah 2:21)
As with the olive and the fig tree, the vine will bear its good fruit in its time, which is just around the corner!
►Other trees symbolic of Israel:
Joel 1:12 (Context: Israel is invaded in the tribulation period) “The vine has dried up and the fig tree has withered; and the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree. All the trees of the field have withered. Surely joy has withered away from the sons of men.
But we know that Israel's story does not end in the tribulation. Joy will return.
The Cedar: Symbol of power, royalty and majesty. The Oak: Symbol of strength and stability. The Palm: Symbol of military victory and victory in Messiah. The Pomegranate: Symbol of abundance and joyfulness. The Acacia: Symbol of beauty. The Myrtle: Symbol of God’s favour and blessing.
The grand summary:
Israel is: Deeply rooted in God with an eternal future. Israel contains the light-producing oil of the Spirit of God and soon will be Messiah’s light of the world! Israel will be at peace soon. The church is a “wild” family member of Israel through our joint root in God. Israel will become fully fruitful after pruning. Israel’s ripening fruit is a sign of Messiah’s coming. Israel will bud and come to life supernaturally in a day and then bring the light of salvation to the Gentile world. Israel will go through the winepress of tribulation, be attacked from the north and fall under calamity, because she was the choicest, noble vine and yet gave herself to paganism. (Baal) Finally Israel will fulfil God’s call and plan in power, majesty and strength, abundance, and blessing.
All of this is revealed in the nature of this forest of trees, and the corresponding Bible verses. How can you not be a tree-hugger!
Edition 237. December 10th 2014
Jerusalem the centre-stage!
Jerusalem, the centre-stage!
When we talk about Jerusalem from a prophetic point of view we are talking about a lot more than ancient stones and modern buildings. We are essentially talking about the Jewish people and God’s prophetic word to them, as well as the physical city. We are talking about God’s plans and Satan’s opposition.
Many of the verses dealing with Jerusalem include Israel and the Jews, so just bear that in mind as we go on.
We must also understand that God has a different way of working with and dealing with Israel from His ways with the Church.
The last word on Jerusalem was delivered thousands of years ago. The last word will not come from any modern spineless, sold-out-to-the-devil politician. The last word is God’s word – it’s impossible that it will not be fulfilled perfectly.
Jerusalem is mentioned 880 times in the Bible.
Why the contention
The entire issue of Jerusalem, Israel and the coming mass salvation of the Jews, is all about kingdoms in conflict. It’s essentially a spiritual issue.
But as far as Jerusalem is concerned, it’s a dwelling issue!
Our Lord wants to and will dwell there and Satan wants to and will for a very brief season.
It’s all about choice. No, not democracy - God’s choice and Satan’s choice! Here it is spelt out so vividly and clearly:
Zechariah 3:2 “And the Lord said to Satan, the Lord rebuke you Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you.”
Zechariah 2:12 “The Lord will take possession of Judah as His inheritance in the Holy Land and will again choose Jerusalem.”
We know from numerous verses that the antichrist, indwelt by Satan himself, sets up his rule from the new Temple, shortly to be built in Jerusalem.
Why does the world hate Israel and support the Palestinian cause? It’s because they hate God and have chosen the way of Satan by not choosing God’s way. And why does much of the church and the Interfaith Movement hate the Zionist state and exalt the Palestinians? –Same reason!
You’re a fool to argue with God!
Before we even get into the meat of this edition I would like to share with you a profound verse of scripture on Jerusalem that is soooo for today!
A friend of mine, Shirley Fouche, who shared this verse with me, said “she would like to share the verse with Mr. Netanyahu, the Knesset and the world out there”. Well, Shirley, I can help with the “world out there” and perhaps it will arrive on the PM’s table as well!
The event takes place in Jerusalem. Nehemiah arrives at the Temple Mount to survey the recently destroyed Temple and the walls of Jerusalem with the purpose of rebuilding the walls.
He runs into opposition from a number of people who are Arabs and the originators of today’s Palestinians. Nehemiah tells them that God is with us and that the Arabs have “no heritage or memorial in Jerusalem.”
Isn’t that very interesting? About 440 BC the founders of the Palestinians are told just what the situation is! Today, nothing has changed!
Nehemiah 2:19-20 (Nehemiah comes to Jerusalem and views the wall) “But when Sanballat the Horronite, Tobiah the Ammonite official and Geshem the Arab heard of it they laughed us to scorn and despised us saying, ‘What is this thing that you are doing? Will you rebel against the king?’ So I answered them and said to them, ‘The God of heaven Himself will prosper us; therefore we His servants will arise and build, but you have no heritage or memorial in Jerusalem.”
Sanballat brought with him the armies of Samaria where he lived to deal with “these feeble Jews.” Samaria is the modern day West Bank.
Sanballat means, “Sin has begotten.” It comes from the moon god - Sin. Moon worship and symbols are all over Arab and Muslim institutions.
►Here’s something interesting: The original words used in Nehemiah 2:20 “You have no heritage or memorial in Jerusalem are as follows: “No heritage” is Strong’s H6666. It means, “No judicial right.” Note the string of sixes! Six being the number of man under sin. The word “Memorial” is Strong’s H2142 and means – “no remembrance originating from records.”
►I hope the gravity of that verse alone has grabbed your attention!
God’s word and plans for Jerusalem:
I have walked the dusty streets, wandered around the mountains and hills of Jerusalem, always with an excited feeling of incredible anticipation. I have never been into the Catholic monstrosities built over holy spots – and never will. For me, Jerusalem always has a powerful future-element to it. I could say much about this but God’s plans are perfectly revealed in these verses:
Note that we go from “no longer being pulled up” to war with huge destruction and ultimately to peace.
Amos 9:15 “I will plant them in their land, and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land I have given them, says the Lord your God.”
Zechariah 14:12 “This is the plague with which the Lord will strike all people who fought against Jerusalem. Their flesh will dissolve while they stand on their feet, their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets and their tongues shall dissolve in their mouths.”
Zechariah 12:9-10 “It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem and I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they have pierced; they will mourn for Him as one mourns for an only son...”
Zechariah 13:8-9 “It shall come to pass in all the land (Israel) says the Lord, that two thirds in it shall be cut off and die, but one third shall be left in it. I will bring one third through the fire, will refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name and I will answer them. I will say, ‘This is My people’, and each one will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”
Micah 4:11 “Now also many nations have gathered against you, who say, ‘Let her be defiled, and let our eye look upon Zion.’ But they do not know the thoughts of the Lord, nor do they understand His counsel; for He will gather them like sheaves to the threshing floor.”
Isaiah 60:14 “The sons of those who afflicted you (Nazi’s, Catholics etc,) shall come bowing to you, and all those who despise you shall fall prostrate at the souls of your feet; and they call you the City of the Lord Zion of the Holy one of Israel.”
Isaiah 62:1-4 “For Zion’s sake I will not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burns. The Gentiles shall see your righteousness, and all kings your glory in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God. You shall no longer be termed forsaken...for the Lord delights in you and your land shall be married.”
Jerusalem, the rule of the devil:
For a short season the city of God’s choice will be infiltrated by Satan promoted by his sidekick the mass-media.
A new Temple will soon be built on the Temple Mount. This Temple will be the one in which the antichrist sets up his rule and declares himself to be God. It will be the Temple of deception. Many Jews in the tribulation will swear allegiance to this evil god masquerading as the true God.
Our Lord took a whip to the defilers of the Temple once before. This time He will return to the Mount of Olives, go through the Golden Gate and into the Temple. The Bible doesn’t say exactly what follows, but we know from other portions of scripture that He will rule and reign from a new Millennium Temple, which will not be on the Temple Mount.
Perhaps this is because the Temple Mount and third Temple have been defiled and polluted by the antichrist.
This third Temple will not endure. It will last for perhaps three and a half years.
It’s not just about the Temple. In the tribulation period, Jerusalem will be the centre of much drama, conflict and war.
Zechariah 13:8-9 shows that one third of the people of Israel will die in soon - coming conflict over the land and the city.
Jerusalem was once before left desolate because it did not know the time of its visitation. Because of this, the visitation of Satan came in like a flood. Now we are back to the same scenario. Jerusalem again does not recognise the time of its final visitation. Satan will come in like a flood.
Only towards the end of the tribulation, will the Jews recognise their impending “visitation”, as Satan and his hordes are cast out.
The mass media’s word on Jerusalem:
The Bible says that Satan is the god of this world. His world has a mouthpiece and voice which is all of the world’s media, celebrity, etc. God’s kingdom is in the hearts of true believers and He has a mouthpiece and voice as well. It is His disciples, His prophets, His people. The two kingdoms are in growing conflict.
The world’s mouthpiece is doing its job well. It is stupefying, deadening and deceiving the world with age-old lies dressed in modern garb.
God has a clear distinct plan for Israel and Jerusalem in these days. Of course Satan has the opposite plan as presented by the mass-media. Satan’s plan is a giant well-orchestrated lie – the biggest ongoing lie ever.
The lie is that the Palestinians have a legitimate claim to Israel and Jerusalem.
Hitler and Jerusalem:
Here are some Hitler quotes. You could blindly apply these to the modern mass-media!
●“Make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it and eventually they will all believe it.”
● “How fortunate it is for leaders that the masses do not think.”
● “A real leader is one who can move the masses with the media.”
● “The victor will never be asked if he told the truth.”
The above quotes can be applied perfectly to the world’s view on dividing Jerusalem and the two-state solution! It’s almost as though Hitler knew he was writing these for the future mass media. Has Hitler risen from the grave? No of course not, but his satanic spirit is alive and well and at work in the media, Satan’s servants.
CNN, BBC, SKY and others of the world’s mass media – you are puppets of the devil and his servant, Hitler. Maybe it’s time for some re-branding. Perhaps you should change your name to Goliath TV or something as appropriate.
Did you know that the city of Jerusalem will be divided very soon? In fact it is already in a mini-division. Did you know that the Bible predicted this 2500 years ago?
This dividing of the city parallels with the dividing of the land of Israel.
This is the cry of the nations of the world. All the world’s intellects, religious elite, powerful politicians, corporate business leaders and the big-deal media are all blowing the trumpet of division. They say with one voice that Israel must be divided and Jerusalem must be divided.
They suck their satanically inspired programme from each other and ultimately from the god of the world -Satan himself. They are Satan’s servants and voice. They think they are working for world peace! They think that because there are so many of them in unity that they must be right!
Here is what God says:
Zechariah 12:2-3 “Behold I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples when they lay siege against Jerusalem and Judah. It shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who heave (divide) it will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations are gathered against it.”
Joel 3:2 “I will gather all nations, and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgement with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land.”
So, in the two verses above we see that God promises war upon those who try to make peace by dividing the city and the land! Isn’t that interesting? Here are the leaders of the world and their foul, demonic voice piece - the mass media, working against God and expecting peace, when He specifically says war will be the result.
Jerusalem is the time-clock.
Whichever way you look – time is running out!
Jerusalem is already the most contentious city in the world. Already the harlot church, the Catholics, have their eye on it. ISIS has eyes on it; all Muslims have eyes on it. Obama and co. have interfering eyes on it. It really is the centre of the world.
The UN has not recognised Israel’s right to East Jerusalem and has rejected Israeli claims many times. They believe that East Jerusalem is integral to a Palestinian state and the two-state solution, which they believe will bring peace.
The two-state and divided-city solution is on the march. It has been through turmoil but very soon something will occur, some event will occur that will speed up the entire process.
Another major issue of the day is the attempt by Netanyahu to make Israel an official Zionist state with Jerusalem as capital of Jewish Israel.
God operates nationalistically. Of course He deals with people as individuals, but He also deals with families, and with nations based on ethnicity. In the verse below the word translated “nation” is the original word “ethnos” meaning ethnic. This doesn’t imply racism, but does imply dealings by national identity.
Acts 17:26 “He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation.”
This issue is on the go right now and will cause conflict. We have God’s ways vs. man’s ways and never the twain shall meet!
It has been a Jewish city since the days of King David 3000 years ago and will continue to be so according to God’s word.
The modern church’s word on Jerusalem:
In many respects the modern church’s word on Jerusalem is the same as the media-inspired and devil-led word of the world. Why would this be? Simply because most church members today have their source of information in the world and the opinions of the media.
Many church leaders know more about what the devil has to say than what God has to say in His word and by His Spirit, especially on these issues.
Jerusalem - the downfall of the US:
Right now Israel is in grave danger. She has enemies all around her moving closer in. She has enemies in the UN, the US, the EU and all over the world. Now Israel is in political turmoil and possible transition to a new government.
The new election in March will bring back Netanyahu or a new more liberal, pro-dividing the land and city leader. This will inspire the world to move forward in unison and will bring the wrath of God onto the stage.
Obama has made it clear that he does not want Netanyahu back again. He wants a new Israeli leader that he can manipulate. He wants a new leader that will play the devil’s game.
Obama, you are working with and for Satan and you are going to bring your wonderful nation, the USA down into the ashes! Obama, don’t you know that with Israel, Jerusalem and the Jews you are messing with God’s eternal covenants and the “apple of God’s eye?”
Zechariah 2:8 “Thus says the Lord of hosts: He has sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you (Jerusalem) touches the apple of His eye.”
United States government – you are playing with fire. But listen, Obama, it’s not ordinary fire you’re messing with. This is the fire of God, you moral coward and sell-out to the devil. This fire of God has far reaching consequences on the whole nation.
What is your word on Jerusalem?
Most people couldn’t care at all. But very soon God will make them care! You will be required to have an opinion and it will have great dramatic consequences for you! You can go with the majority consensus which is the way of Satan or you can go with the minority Biblical, Godly view. The former will sound right and reasonable, but as with all these things we are in a spiritual climate and battle.
True Christians do you realise that Israel’s enemy is your enemy (think about it.) Israel’s friends are yours. Israel’s fight is yours. Do you stand with God’s many decrees and promises for Israel?
Isaiah 40:1-2 “Comfort, yes comfort My people!” says your God. “Speak comfort to Jerusalem and cry out to her, that her warfare has ended, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she has received from the Lord double for all her sins.”
In the following verse we see the importance of the “key of David.” This “key” is defined in the Isaiah verse. It is those who have a fatherly or compassionate attitude to inhabitants of Jerusalem – the Jews.
Revelation 3:7 “To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, These things says He who is holy, He who is true, He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts and He who shuts and no one opens.”
Isaiah 22:21-22 “...He shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. The key of the house of David I will lay on his shoulder; so he shall open and no one shall shut; and he will shut and no one shall open.”
Church warning signs:
God’s end-time plans for Israel, the Jew and Jerusalem are so very important – much more than you can imagine. They are and will be the rising fence from which many will fall, some this side into heaven and some that side into hell.
If these things are so important, you would expect God to inform, instruct and warn His people wouldn’t you? Well that’s just what He has done in His word, more times than any other subject in the Bible! His Spirit has been and is enlightening His word on these things now– can’t you hear Him?
So why are so many churches silent on these things? These same churches speak very little of Satan, hell and God’s enemies. You need to run away from any church or minister that is silent on God’s enemies.
In most cases the churches that are silent on God’s plans for Jerusalem are the same ones that are proponents of the evil satanic doctrine of Replacement Theology.
I warn you directly – this entire issue is right on the cutting edge of what God is doing now. If your minister can’t or won’t see that, he is not of God’s Spirit and you are in infinitely more danger than you can imagine.
So many times I hear of people questioning their church. They want to go where the truth is upheld. They want to be right with God but feel uncomfortable and constrained in their present church situation. They feel it has nothing to say on eschatology and they are out in the dark.
The end of the story:
Isaiah 62:6-7 “I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem, who shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.”
Zechariah 8:3 “I will return to Zion, and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth, the Mountain of the Lord of hosts, The Holy Mountain.”
2 Chronicles 6:6 “I have chosen Jerusalem, that My name may be there; and I have chosen David to be over My people.”
Zechariah 12:10 “I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they have pierced; they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son and grieves for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.”
Zechariah 8:23 “For thus says the Lord of hosts: “In those days ten men from every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man, saying, “Let us go with you for we have heard that God is with you.”
These are critical times and issues. These are issues of great conflict. Satan knows his time is just about up. Our Lord is coming soon. You need to know these things so that you can stand with and for the truth and against the dangerous deceptions and errors out there. The fence is rising!
For the next few months or so, I’ll share some of my own art creations. Most are mixed media works combined with collage elements, gold leaf, fabrics and other items. I’ve used some digital effects in some. My style is abstract but with slightly recognisable forms within the work and always lot’s of textures. This one is part of a series on crosses using an ethnic theme.
I took this picture recently from a chopper flying over the Dragons Back in the Drakensberg Mountains as swirling “waterfalls” of mist beautified the landscape. Note the rare circular rainbow around the shadow of the chopper. Pilots call this their “guardian angel.” (By the way I mentioned my friend Shirley earlier, who shared that Nehemiah verse with me. She and her husband used to run the Cathkin Peak Hotel at the base of the 3000m mountain on the horizon. A nearby mountain is named after her grandfather.)
Shalom and grow in grace!
