|This ministry has a distinct kingdom, Messianic vision, identifying with God’s call and plan for the Jewish people and the church. My position is pre-trib! Personally: I was saved in 1976 while working as a war correspondent, journalist, photographer, artist and environmentalist. My calling is to share these great end-time dramas, to stand as a watchman and above all, to glorify my God.|

Shabbat (Sabbath) begins on Fridays at 6pm and ends on Saturdays at 6pm. The purpose is to help the church and Israel become reconciled in Messiah and to identify the rift, and the needed restoration. There is much in the church that needs to change before it can be fully reconciled with the Jew. Likewise, changes in Jewish thinking are also needed.
Edition 238. December 17th 2014
What believers and unbelievers will be judged for?
Every human being’s life will be examined closely by God from the basis of His word.
The only absolutely sure thing for every human being is judgement. Not liking that won’t make it go away. Knowing all about it and preparing one’s life accordingly is not only wise, but satisfying, fulfilling and purpose-giving.
Very few people know anything about their coming judgement, even within the church, to their own detriment.
In this edition I want to give you some clearly spelt out truths, so that you can apply them in confidence.
Please be aware that the judgements of believers and of unbelievers are worlds apart. They are eternal worlds apart! And let me clarify that a believer is one who believes, and acts on his belief through the new birth by faith. I am not talking about one who believes in word only.
We must also understand that God’s judgement upon everyone is eternal. The consequences and the effects of it, are eternal.
The first and most important thing to bear in mind is that you were created by God for a specific purpose of His own. This must change your entire perspective on life and purpose for being. “You are not your own”, says the Bible. Unfortunately most people have stolen their lives for themselves.
The tragedy of our day is that most Christians compare themselves with everything of today. They fit in perfectly with the average norm. They are a bride not divorced from the god of the world. They’re a lukewarm body with a head still connected to all the idols of the world. They’re a million miles from God’s requirements.
The judgement of the unbeliever:
Almost all unbelievers, at least those who believe that there is a God, believe that they will be saved based on their works. They think that they have tried hard, been more good than bad and have been sincere in their beliefs and true to the values of the present world.
No one is saved on the basis of their works. All people who are not born again will stand before God at the Great White Throne Judgement, where the Lamb’s Book of Life will be opened and their name will not be found in it. Then their book of works will be opened and their works will be found not perfect – that is the passing grade if you choose works to be saved!
They are all cast from there into an eternal hell. There will be different degrees of punishment and judgement in hell. (Revelation 20:11-15.)
It’s not just your motives that matter. It’s also the purity of your life that matters. Motives out of an unsaved heart and an un-renewed mind will fail you.
A good example is this: The woman known as mother Theresa (she was no mother to me) believed that she was to bring comfort to dying people leaving them to be Hindus, Muslims, or whatever religion they were. She made no challenge to their devil-religions ever. She led no one to the Lord. She was a true Universalist, like Ghandi, Obama, Mandela.
It is only the work of the cross of Calvary, and the shed blood of Messiah that saves and sets truly free.
The unbeliever’s terror is that all that they expected, thought and presumed that they were fine with God. They will all be found wanting. Their great terror will be that they can’t go back and do things again and that they’re eternally trapped and imprisoned.
►Don’t be such an idiot as to think God will judge you the way you think you should be judged!
The Judgement of the true believer:
No true believer will ever appear at the Great White Throne Judgement. That is exclusively for unbelievers.
True believers were in effect judged with our Lord on His cross. This was our salvation-judgement. Our future judgement has nothing to do with salvation – that’s signed sealed and delivered. All believers will be judged for their works. But be careful, it’s not works in general, its works as led and inspired by the Holy Spirit.
The Bible does not say that a glass of cold water given will be rewarded. It says a glass of cold water given in His name will be rewarded.
Every action, work, deed, and even every word spoken will be assessed and judged for reward or loss of reward. Do you know that you’re being watched and everything you do and say is being “recorded”?
So, you think that’s a bit scary? Well even our thoughts will be brought into judgment. After all, our thoughts produce and lead to our actions.
Don’t tell me you can’t control your thought life – hogwash! We are commanded to cast down thoughts that exalt against our Lord. We are commanded to “think on these things.” Thoughts of hatred are likened to murder by our Lord. Now there’s something we will all lose some reward for!
The great entrance:
2 Peter 1:10-11 “Brethren, be even more diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you will do these things (previously mentioned) you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Yeshua the Messiah.”
Hebrews 12:1 “Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.”
These two wonderful verses are an amazing promise from our Lord. They speak of a great entrance into heaven surrounded by a magnificent “grand stand” of witnesses who are observing the great entrance. Who knows just who this “cloud of witnesses” is. They could be angels; they could be all the people that know you who have gone on before you.
Some believers will scrape into heaven instead of having an “abundant entrance”. They will have all their works burnt by fire, yet they will still be saved. They will lose the reward which was to be theirs, forever.
1 Corinthians 3:12-15 “If anyone builds on this foundation (Yeshua) with gold silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become manifest; for the Day will declare it, because it will become revealed by fire; and the fire will test each ones work of what sort it is. If anyone’s work endures he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.”
Okay that’s the basics. Let’s have a look at some of the big-ticket items for which we will be rewarded or suffer loss of reward.
We will be rewarded for how we responded to and applied God’s plan for us into our lives. Did we do what we were created for and called for?
The true Christian life is not about formulas and law keeping. No law-keeper or formula-driven religious expression comes even close to living the true Christian life.
These formulas all have one fatal flaw. They presume that you can live the Christian life. You can’t!
The real Christian life is for failures. It’s for people who can’t live it! It is not for liar-law keepers, who look down at all who don’t keep their laws their way, in spite of the fact that nobody can keep the law and if you fail in one you fail in all!
The true Christian has an indwelling God or Lord that He responds to. This is the way of truth. The true Christian life is from another planet – another life-form. It is a foreign life-form alive in us speaking, leading and guiding.
Our Lord Himself proved this in saying “I can of My own self do nothing. Without the Father I can do nothing.” This is a great and powerful deep, secret principle and the only way that is acceptable to God.
It’s not a case of try harder to live the Christian life! That’s the way of frustration and failure. It’s a case of die to self and this will mark a wonderful transition into supernatural life simply flowing in and through us.
The goal of the true Christian life is not prosperity, power, Christian fame and fortune. It is union with God and hearing His voice and obeying it.
The disciples soon realised that Yeshua was not alone. He had an indwelling God whom He communed with. Can others sense that you are not alone and that you frequently go to be alone with your indwelling God? Can others sense that you are totally different?
Our journey is beautifully portrayed in the feasts of the Lord. Passover, Pentecost and Tabernacles encapsulate all seven feats and symbolise our journey from salvation (Passover) to the Pentecostal experience (Pentecost) and into union and dwelling with God (Tabernacles).
You can’ get to Tabernacles without going through Passover and Pentecost! Final victory depends on our willingness to surrender and die to self will and the world, and to allow God to shine His life through our lives. God’s conquest of you will take you into acceptable holiness and that holiness into eternal reward.
God calls for daily sacrifice. It’s a choice. This produces depth and the highest level of experience in Him. This is the way to the power of His resurrection and power to live right.
The crown flows from the cross and its application into our lives.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 “Our light affliction which is but for a moment is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but the things which are unseen, for the things which are seen are temporary, but the tings which are not seen are eternal.”
Isaiah 57:15 “Thus says the High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place with him who has a contrite and humble spirit.”
Have you fought the fight well? If you have you would know well that the journey to the Promised Land involves much warfare. Are you an over comer?
Revelation 3:5 “He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.”
Israel and the Jew:
If you are saved, God is in you and He is in you with His word and plans for Israel, the land and the people. It’s born into you. It came with the new-birth. It’s part of the package deal! But many who are saved have a blockage between their own mind and will and God’s. The will of the mind and its attachment to the world must be broken.
Please have a look at this powerful verse. We know that Ruth is a type of the Church and Naomi a type of the Jewish people, soon to be saved.
Ruth 1:15-16 “Naomi, look your sister-in-law (Orpah) has gone back to her people and to her gods; return after your sister-in-law, but Ruth said, ‘entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you; for wherever you go I will go, your people (Jews) shall be my people, and your God my God...”
Orpah turned her back and went back to her people and their gods. This is a type of the counterfeit or harlot church. She is a type of the church of replacement theology and the modern anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian church. Even Orpah’s name means “to turn the back”.
Ruth, a type of the true Messianic Church, followed Naomi, the type of the Jew back into the land after they had been resident in Moab. They arrived at Bethlehem at the time of the barley harvest (a type of the rapture). Ruth then married Boaz and became part of the lineage of King David and our Lord Yeshua!
Will you become a betrayer? Are you a Judas? Already half the church has betrayed God’s plan and word for Israel!
We are at a cross-road right now. The world is turning against Israel, led by part of the church and their deceived leaders.
Many leaders of the church have invented the most evil, wicked and blasphemous doctrines relating to Israel. Replacement Theology in all its forms is perhaps the worst, but again as in ancient times, Israel is about to be betrayed in a wicked way far worse than in Nazi times. Whose side will you be on? I know and feel right now that many reading these words will fall under the deluded deception of the demon spirits of Hitler and Judas.
Deuteronomy 23:9 “When the army goes out against your enemies, then keep yourself from every wicked thing.”
Those who stand with and for God’s word on Israel will be rewarded.
Betwixt and between?
Are you a nominal believer? The word “nominal” means “in name only.” If you are you are not a Christian.
There are no in-between believers at the end of the day. People are born of the Spirit of God or they are not. But many believe that they are believers because they go to church and do churchy things and keep laws and perform rituals. They celebrate Christmas and Easter. They pray and try to be good. They think they are saved, but when the pressure is on their fruits are evident.
●Here’s a nice little bit of linguistic gymnastics with powerful spiritual meaning: Good – God = 0!
One sure thing about the false church full of counterfeit believers is that they will end up with the false Messiah.
The harlot church will end up as the eternal whore of the devil.
Jeremiah 2:17 “Have you not brought this on yourself in that you have forsaken the Lord you God when He led you in the way? And now why take the road to Egypt (type of the world)...your own wickedness will correct you, and your backsliding will reprove you...and the fear of Me is not in you.”
Why do so many have trouble in this life? “In the world you have tribulation; in Me you will have peace.” Too many are in love with the devil’s world. He has got many in his grip. They have no fear of the Lord. The Lord has been removed from the institutions of the world and there is no fear of Him anywhere anymore.
The fear of the Lord will keep you from the fear of man and the pressure to find the approval of man and the world.
Once saved always saved?
Yes, yes I know this is controversial, and I know all the arguments. I’m not convinced, simply because there are too many verses implying the loss of salvation. The most well-used verse to support the once saved always saved position is:
Romans 8:38-39 “I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Messiah Yeshua our Lord.”
There are other similar verses. They all have one problem. They all correctly speak of nothing external being able to separate us from God. They all miss out the one who can separate us – self or one’s own free will.
A person can lose salvation in the same way that he got it, by free choice. You can set your heart and mind to reject and eject our Lord and His Spirit by your own free will.
Here are some verses implying the loss of salvation:
John 15:6 “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire and they are burned.”
2 Peter 2:20-21 “If after they have escaped the pollutions of the world, the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Yeshua the Messiah, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end for them is worse than the beginning, for it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it and turned from it.”
Revelation 3:5 “He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.” (The phrase, “I will not blot out his name implies that it can be blotted out.)
Revelation 22:19 “If anyone takes away from the words of the prophecy of this book, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city and from the things written in this book.”
Psalm 69:27-28 “Add iniquity to their iniquity and let them not come into your righteousness. Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.”
There are many others as well.
I’m not suggesting that a person jumps in and out of salvation; but that it is possible according to these verses to lose one’s salvation. Many times, not always, people arguing in favour of “once saved always saved” have a little or no fear of the Lord.
A most powerful doctrine able to really assist you in your walk to glory is this knowledge that it’s possible for self - will to take you all the way to hell. What a brilliant reason to get rid of and crucify self-will!
If we do things the way we ought as revealed in the scripture we will be victorious, overcomers – able to walk forward in confidence with our Lord. Not self confidence, but confidence in Him. We will be successful in standing against the schemes of the devil and we will be successful in our overall calling.
Excuse me for sharing this bit of testimony, but I think it is appropriate to our subject. A few months ago I suddenly had a serious heart issue. My first thought and action was prayer and the second was to get down to the doctor. With the help of both, I’m better but not quite right yet.
Immediate thoughts of eternity came flooding in. Then came the thoughts of readiness. Am I ready, I thought? Well, I renewed my old salvation prayer, sought forgiveness for all and everything and declared my unending love for my Messiah.
Because going to heaven is a journey none of us have taken, there is still an element of fear involved. I don’t care who you are, the thought of standing before our Lord for the judgement and assessment of our life’s work is scary indeed.
Confidence is one thing and yes we can have it, but the fear of the Lord must parallel it as well.
There is no second chance at life! The Bible warns in many places of large numbers of believers falling away in these days. The Bible warns of increasing deception in these days.
How wise it is to “walk circumspectly”, “examining ourselves to see if we are in the faith”. How wise it is to “number our days.”
