Shabbat (Sabbath) begins on Fridays at 6pm and ends on Saturdays at 6pm. The purpose is to help the church and Israel become reconciled in Messiah and to identify the rift, and the needed restoration. There is much in the church that needs to change before it can be fully reconciled with the Jew. Likewise, changes in Jewish thinking are also needed.

Shabbat Shalom to all!
The tree-huggers delight:
The Bible uses plants, trees, colours, animals, birds, numbers and more to describe people and nations. It is the subliminal symbols that are of great significance and meaning, especially in relation to Israel.
Did you realise that the entire course of Israel’s history is plotted in the trees? There is much more to these symbols and metaphors - for another time.
Here are some amazing messages blowing in the wind, relating to Israel.
►The Olive tree: (Romans 11)
These trees have very deep, well established roots. They are sometimes called eternal trees, because they are so hardy; they live for many thousands of years. An ancient olive tree appears to die, but then miraculously, new shoots appear out of the dead wood continuing its existence.
The olive tree produces a rich olive oil which has numerous uses, but is also a type of the Holy Spirit. Olive oil is required to keep the temple menorah flames burning. This symbolises light. Olive tree leaves are symbols of peace. Remember the dove bringing back an olive branch to the ark after the flood of judgement.
The root of the olive tree is symbolic of God Himself. The root is called, “holy.”
Biblically, there are two olive trees of importance. The natural olive tree, is symbolic of Israel, and the wild olive tree, is symbolic of the church. The wild olive branch was “grafted” into the natural olive tree, thus partaking of the goodness of the root.
The national emblem of Israel includes two olive branches.
An ancient olive tree grove:
►The Fig tree:
The fig tree is symbolic of spiritual fruitfulness after severe pruning or judgement. It relates to Israel in the tribulation period, awakening to spiritual life.
The fig tree is unique in that its blossoms appear before the leaves. It should have fruit appearing before the leaves. This is why our Lord cursed the unfruitful fig tree, causing it to die. The root was not destroyed though, and a new tree full of fruit, is about to appear.
When the disciples asked out Lord what would be the sign of His coming, He listed a number of judgements to fall on the world. But one of these was the sign of the fig tree.
Matthew 24:32-34 “learn the parable of the fig tree: When is branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that the summer is near. So also you when you see all these things, know that it is near, even at the very doors. Assuredly, I say to you, ‘this generation (of Jews) will be no means pass away till all these things are fulfilled.’”
Present day Zionism and the awakening of the Jews, as well as modern anti-Semitism are signs of the fig tree putting forth leaves and about to produce much spiritual fruit.
►The Almond tree:
The almond is the first tree to flower in its season, which at the end of winter. The flower has five petals to it, five being the number of grace. The temple menorah, a symbol of light, has oil cups or containers in the shape of almond flowers.
The Hebrew word for “almond” is “shakeid” which also means to “awake” and “watch”.
The almond is symbolic of Messiah’s resurrection. It speaks of the supernatural power of God as seen in Aaron’s almond branch that budded in one day. (Numbers 17:8)
Jeremiah 1:11-14 “The word of the Lord came to me saying, ‘Jeremiah, what do you see?’ I said, ‘I see the branch of an almond tree.’ Then the Lord said, ‘you have seen well for I am about to perform My word.’ And the word of the Lord came to me a second time, saying, ‘what do you see? And I said, a boiling pot and it is facing away from the north.’ Then the Lord said to me: ‘Out of the north calamity shall break forth on all the inhabitants of the land.’”
The message here is that as the almond (Israel) flowers and buds she will be plunged into the tribulation period.
Jeremiah 31:28 “It shall come to pass that as I have watched over them to pluck up, to break down, to throw down, to destroy and to afflict them, so I will watch over them to build and plant says the Lord. In those days they shall say no more, ‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes...’”
Psalm 80:8-9 “You have brought a vine out of Egypt, You have cast out the nations and planted it. You prepared room for it, and caused it to take deep root and it filled the land.”
This vine, Israel, is described as “the choicest vine.” But it is a vine that also has within it a “winepress.” (Isaiah 5:1-2) The “winepress” speaks of the crushing tribulation to come!
God planted Israel as a “noble vine” of the highest quality, yet it became an alien, degenerate vine. This speaks of Israel's rebellion to Messiah. (Jeremiah 2:21)
As with the olive and the fig tree, the vine will bear its good fruit in its time, which is just around the corner!
►Other trees symbolic of Israel:
Joel 1:12 (Context: Israel is invaded in the tribulation period) “The vine has dried up and the fig tree has withered; and the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree. All the trees of the field have withered. Surely joy has withered away from the sons of men.
But we know that Israel's story does not end in the tribulation. Joy will return.
The Cedar: Symbol of power, royalty and majesty. The Oak: Symbol of strength and stability. The Palm: Symbol of military victory and victory in Messiah. The Pomegranate: Symbol of abundance and joyfulness. The Acacia: Symbol of beauty. The Myrtle: Symbol of God’s favour and blessing.
The grand summary:
Israel is: Deeply rooted in God with an eternal future. Israel contains the light-producing oil of the Spirit of God and soon will be Messiah’s light of the world! Israel will be at peace soon. The church is a “wild” family member of Israel through our joint root in God. Israel will become fully fruitful after pruning. Israel’s ripening fruit is a sign of Messiah’s coming. Israel will bud and come to life supernaturally in a day and then bring the light of salvation to the Gentile world. Israel will go through the winepress of tribulation, be attacked from the north and fall under calamity, because she was the choicest, noble vine and yet gave herself to paganism. (Baal) Finally Israel will fulfil God’s call and plan in power, majesty and strength, abundance, and blessing.
All of this is revealed in the nature of this forest of trees, and the corresponding Bible verses. How can you not be a tree-hugger!
Edition 244. January 28th 2015
What if the Bible is true?
What if the Bible is true?
In this edition I want to have a look at what the implications would be if the Bible is true and isn’t true.
The question on the veracity of the Bible really goes to the veracity of God Himself. God and His Word are one. So if our risen Messiah is real and true, so is His Word.
Today there is a huge move amongst many churches to de-throne the Bible, to play it down, and with some, even to discredit it. There is a huge move away from the literal interpretation and plain meaning of the scriptures.
Satan must shoot as many holes in the Bible as he can to achieve his purposes. Today it’s fashionable to cast down the truth of the scriptures and dismiss all absolutes. But make no mistake, anyone doing so does so to his eternal detriment.
Psalm 117:2 “The truth of the Lord endures forever.”
These truth-destroyers will themselves be destroyed by the very truth they cast down.
The Bible has produced more deception, division, hatred, death, mass murder, and conflict than any other book in the world ever. This same Bible has also produced unity, love tolerance, harmony, peace and the very essence of life - eternal life at that!
Who is doing the interpretation is the big issue. If modern man is doing the interpretation of the Bible – I feel sorry for you. If your local minister is doing it according to his denominational views, again, I feel sorry for you. If your interpretation is of Calvin or the early-church so-called fathers, I feel terribly sorry for you.
Now have a look at the amazing verses below. It is referring to prophecy, but it applies perfectly to all interpretation of doctrine.
2 Peter 1:19-21 “We have the prophetic word made more sure, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts; knowing this first that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.”
Do you see it? So, who is the only valid interpreter? Yes, it’s the Holy Spirit Himself. Do you see that this verse alone shows that all denominations and divisions are caused by Spiritless men?
Just look at what Spiritless men have done with the Bible. They have produced some 30,000 different so-called ‘Christian’ denominations and divisions. And here’s God’s desire, plan and will:
1Corinthians 1:10 “Now I plead with you brethren, by the name of our Lord, Yeshua the Messiah, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgement.”
James 3:15-17 speaks of the wisdom from below which is demonic and produces strife, bitterness, self-seeking, confusion and every evil thing. By contrast the wisdom that is from above is pure, peaceable, gentle, yielding, and full of mercy and good fruits.
So, in these verses we see that for the Bible to be true, it must be interpreted by the Holy Spirit. It will then have Godly results and fruits.
Do you know why some ministers create division, disunity and all sorts of doctrinal error using the Bible to back themselves up? It is because they can’t see! They are “the blind leading the blind.” They don’t have the God-given tools to rightly divide and apply the scriptures.
Now, have a look at these profound verses below:
John 8:42-44, 47 If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceed forth and came from God, nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. You are of your father the devil...there is no truth in him. He who is of God hears Gods words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.”
2 Corinthians 4:4 “The god of this world (Satan) has blinded the minds of them who believe not.”
So now in these verses above we see that unbelievers are unable to see, understand and hear the true word of God. By contrast here is the exact opposite:
John 8 31-32 “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed, and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
So, how can this be? The answer is that the Bible is a supernatural book. It is essentially Spirit and Life. It requires supernatural gifts to see and understand its mighty revelations which cause it to come alive and speak like no other book ever has or can.
The Bible says of itself, “The letter (of the word) kills, the Spirit gives life.” (2 Corinthians 3:6) So there we have it from the Bible itself. It says it will produce death or life!
The Bible speaks of the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error. Biblical truth and error are essentially spirits! (1 John 4:6)
You see, some people are “always learning, but never coming to the truth.” (2 Timothy 3:7) We must be in the Spirit and test the spirits!
Job 38:15 “From the wicked their light is withheld...”
It is God who is in the blinding business. A powerful example is in the blinding of the Jewish people. Because they “believed not” in their Messiah, God blinded them and deluded them. It is God who gives light and sight!
Here is the right attitude to the word of God:
Job 42:5 “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my spiritual eye sees You. Therefore I abhor myself and repent in dust and ashes.”
Matthew 4:4 “It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
If the Bible is true here are some staggering implications:
If the Bible is true, you were called into salvation before the foundation of the earth. This is the purpose and meaning for your life – to find and walk in His call for you. This is the answer to the modern stressed out life of variable values and variable everything else.
I recall standing at a woman’s bedside some years ago. She was about to die. She said to me that her life had been an aimless mess and that she was just a piece of rubbish. She had stolen her life from God to live for herself all her days.
I told her that even at that very late stage she could turn things around completely, accept the salvation of the Lord and could still have purpose in her life even if it were just in prayer. She died that night without making right with our Lord.
If the Bible is true, you need to be born-again to even see the kingdom of heaven.
1 Corinthians 2:14 “People who are not Christians cannot understand these things; they are foolishness to them. They cannot understand them because they are spiritually discerned.”
If the Bible is true, hell is real, eternal and its coming soon! And all the verses speaking of it that nobody preaches on these days are true and real.
Do you know that all but two of the warnings about hell from our Lord were given to believers?
If the Bible is true all religions are invalid and salvation is through the cross and shed blood of our Messiah only and exclusively.
If you do not know and believe the Bible you will not be ready for what is coming. Numerous verses paint a horrific picture of many Christians who will be overcome. Just have a look at these verses below:
2 Peter 2:21 “It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.”
2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 “The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception, among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they may be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion that they should believe the lie that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
Matthew 24:12 “Because of the increase in lawlessness, the love of many will grow cold.”
Today we have a church full of the knowledge of the world and ignorant of the word of God. Many have cast aside the word of God in favour of their own stupid satanic philosophies!
Romans 1:18 “The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.”
Isaiah 59:14 “Truth is fallen in the street.”
If the Bible is true:
You can try all you like to prove the Bible true. You can use Bible numerics, science, archaeology and many other such things – all valid. But you still can’t make it come to life. You can’t breathe that living revelation knowledge into it. The book remains dead, just like any edition of Shakespeare!
The most powerful proof of the veracity of the Bible is not fulfilled prophecy, numerics or the like. It is the testimony of radically changed lives. Only the Spirit of life produces radically changed lives. Likewise, proof of the veracity of the Bible also lies in death and destruction, the savage killing of multitudes by the Catholics in the name of a religion born out of the misuse of the Bible.
If the Bible is true, those who call us “religious bigots” will forever regret that they weren’t one of us.
If the Bible is not true – anything goes and who cares! If the Bible is not true, what CNN, BBC, SKY, and others say matters.
If the Bible is true, and it is alive in your heart, it will produce a restraint in you. (Hosea 4:1-2)
Psalm 25:5, 10 “Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation. All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth.”
If the Bible is not true:
●There will be no understanding or urgency relating to end-time events. ●You will be able to assimilate perfectly with and into the world. It will be your very good friend. ●You will not see any division between the world system and the kingdom of God and will have no insight into the demonic. ●You will have the wisdom of the world’s media as your informer and source of knowledge. ●You will be just like them. ●You will be able to merge with other religions and be involved in inter – faith. ●You will be free from having to deny yourself, and take up any cross of any sort. ●You will be strong in the power of self effort and worldly wisdom. ●You will be free to live for self, full of self-indulgence. ●You will not see the necessity of being holy. ●You will be full of stress. ●You will not see the difference between truth and error. They will blend and merge together. ●You will not see or believe in coming judgement. ●You will not see your own judgement coming. ●You will believe in the rights of the Palestinians to the land of Israel and the city of Jerusalem, or at least a part of it. ●You will think the two-state solution is the right way.
The correct use and application of the Bible:
This will always produce these fruits or effects:
●You will have a longing for His appearing. ●You will always have conflict with some of those outside of the cross and Spirit. ●You will be in unity of faith and experience an increase in faith. ●You will lose your love for the world system. ●You will desire to crucify self. ●You will have increasing victory over the demonic. ●You will have a love for the salvation of the lost. ●You will grow in holiness, righteousness, and experience rivers of peace. ●You will increase in Godly wisdom. ●You will have strength through knowing God ●You will see the signs of the times. ●You will experience a glorious sense of being known and accepted by Our Lord as His friend. ●You will know and see truth and error. ●You will walk in safety from deception. ●You will love God’s plan for Israel and stand for Israel, Jerusalem and the Jews. ●You will see and understand coming judgement. ●You will have a fear of the Lord. ●You will love all of God’s natural creation.
Proverbs 23:23 “Buy the truth and do not sell it, also wisdom, instruction and understanding.”
Isaiah 26:2 “Open the gates that the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in.”
The big take-away:
If the Bible is true, the biggest catastrophe ever, for many people is on the doorstep. It is the reality of eternal judgement. Eternal judgement is one of the major doctrines of Messiah. (Hebrews 6:2)
►May I share with you two short (true) stories?
One comes from an individual who has spent much of his life, a lot of money and effort trying to prove the Bible wrong. His famous presumption is that the ark of Noah, according to the Biblical dimensions, would have been far too small to contain two of each animal.
Then someone told him that the Bible actually doesn’t say that. It says “two of every kind” in the original. So it was not two of all antelope types, but two of the antelope species alone. Now that changes the entire picture completely! In fact another scholar has worked out that two of every kind (Species type) fits perfectly into the ark dimensions! (You will find this in the Amplified version of the Bible and by doing a word study in Strongs.)
Imagine the futility, and now the horror of discovering that all your life’s efforts are destroyed by one sentence of Biblical truth!
The other story comes from someone I know who similarly has been trying to prove the Bible wrong. His thesis is that the world is much older than 6000 years, which is the period revealed in the genealogies of the Bible. “All you need to do is look at the fossil record and the dinosaurs to see that science proves a world many millions of years old.” He claims.
Big mistake he made! Again imagine being so dumb as to try and prove God’s word wrong. The answer is right here in the Bible.
I’m not going to go into all the amazing, wonderful details here now as it’s not our main subject, but essentially the Bible reveals that there was a pre-Adamic world, which Lucifer was in charge of. It could have existed many millions of years ago. It was destroyed by a flood for its evil.
The earth rising out of the waters in Genesis is not creation, but re-creation. The Biblical account from Adam to present is 6000 years, but there was much more, including the dinosaurs long before that. Again, it’s not very clever to try and prove God wrong!
I have done some work on the pre-Adamic race in Edition 37 which you can find HERE.
The second big take away:
If the Bible is true, end-time prophecy is true. All fulfilled Bible prophecy was fulfilled in a literal manner, meaning that unfulfilled prophecy will continue to be fulfilled in the same manner and it is!
All these ‘mad’ watchmen yelling about things to come very shortly are in fact the ones to listen to. The words they speak make a mockery of the world’s mass media – the deception speakers and the “scoffers” who believe that “everything will continue as always.” (2 Peter 3:3-4)
The entire Biblical end-time scenario with all its drama will play out exactly as foretold in the scriptures.
If the Bible is true God’s plan for Israel, Jerusalem and the Jewish people is on track (as it is). The prophesied failure of the Jews to recognise their Messiah is true. The prophesied destruction of the Temple in 70AD is true. The reclaiming of Jerusalem in 1967 is true. The prophesied birth of the nation of Israel in a single day is true. The prophesied revival of Hebrew, the pure language, is true.
The regathering to the land initially in blindness is true and the prophesied soon-coming lifting of the veil of blindness is true. The prophesied dividing of the land and city of Jerusalem which will bring major, massive war and not peace is all true.
If the Bible is true the terrible reality of the Jews rejecting their Jewish Messiah is quite true.
Matthew 23:37-38 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See your house is left to you desolate!”
If the Bible is true, this is not the end of the story; the following verse reveals the glorious end:
Jeremiah 31:31 “Behold the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.”
If the Bible is true; God will bring the Jews back to their land in blindness, then open their spiritual eyes, then use them as His instruments to bring salvation to a world in tribulation, or at least those who will respond.
Of course the Bible is true, but that’s only the beginning. You need it to come alive and speak to you. It must lead you and guide you from within your own heart.
If you have desired and embraced the truth and are seeking it and it is coming to life in your heart you will notice a few things. You will become wise. You will experience an inner joy and peace and you will always be a bit mysterious.
Proverbs 3:32-35 “His secret counsel is with the upright. The curse of the Lord is on the house of the wicked, but He blesses the house of the just. Surely He scorns the scornful, but givers grace to the humble. The wise shall inherit glory, but shame shall be the legacy of fools.”
Psalm 1:1 “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands with sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the Word of the Lord.”
I did this mixed media painting combining various texture effects following an ethnic theme.
I took this picture deep in the Tsitsikamma Forest. This is the beautiful Fraser Falls. There are no paths - its arm-ripping thorns all the way!
Shalom and grow in grace!
