This website is distinctly Messianic, comprising the Abrahamic expression of faith, which is to the Jew and the Gentile. We affirm the fullness of truth contained in the Bible, embracing the cross and identifying with the convocations of the Lord. We reject the legalism of many in the Messianic movement. We reject the Babylonian Pagan traditions of the church. We consider all people Jews and Gentiles and those in all churches who are truly born of the Spirit of the living God to be one family. We proclaim a kingdom vision. We affirm and identify with God's plan and call to the Jewish people in these days and will support and stand with them as future brothers and sisters. Our slant is pre-trib! The Prophetic Scroll's aim is to glorify the living God.
I was saved in 1976 and became extremely interested in Bible prophecy, being an ex war-correspondent and photographer. My calling and aim is to share the dramatic, all-important issues of prophecy relating to our day. Please study these things further yourself. Please search the scriptures to “see if these be true.” The Prophetic Scroll stands as a watchman in these exciting and dangerous days.

Shabbat (Sabbath) begins on Fridays at 6pm and ends on Saturdays at 6pm. The purpose is to help the church and Israel become reconciled in Messiah and to identify the rift, and the needed restoration. There is much in the church that needs to change before it can be fully reconciled with the Jew. Likewise, changes in Jewish thinking are also needed.
Edition 313: April 25th 2016
The Marriage, the Bride, the Rapture:
The Marriage, the Bride, the Rapture:
We’ve just looked at some of the incredible signs, symbols and types that we can apply to a pre-tribulation rapture from the Fall Feasts, in the previous edition, and more in the edition before that.
Now, let’s have a look at some of the incredible, irrefutable evidence for the rapture in the ancient Jewish wedding customs and celebration.
If you put the previous three editions together, they will collectively, shed much revelation on the pre-tribulation rapture.
The ancient Hebrew wedding and all its rich symbolism applies firstly to the Jews themselves, but there are many idioms, types, symbols and messages that apply to us, the church as well.
Some of these issues and facts are spectacular to say the least.
Most of the traditions of the ancient Hebrew wedding (at the time the Bible was written) are not practised today, but you can look all these things up. The ancient, rich symbolism and meanings are still right here and still apply.
Let’s describe the ancient wedding:
The groom would go to the home of the bride where the contractual betrothal would take place. This was not the full marriage yet. There was no consummation or living together yet. The groom would pay the price required for his bride. He would then go back to his father’s house to prepare and make the arrangements for the full wedding.
The groom would prepare a wedding chamber at his father’s house, which is where he will bring his bride for the full consummation of the marriage later on. The bride and groom would stay in this temporary dwelling for seven days.
This temporary dwelling is called the chuppah, but bears no resemblance to the chuppah used today. Back in those days it was a lot more elaborate and was sealed from view to anyone outside.
The groom would only leave the father’s house to fetch his bride, once the father had approved of the preparations made by the son. It was only the father that knew the specific instant in time when everything suited him, and all was ready.
The father would then send the son and the last trump would sound to mark the event and the fact that everything was in place for the wedding.
All of this time, the bride was considered to be consecrated, set apart and bought with a price, but still awaiting the completion of the marriage.
The groom would then leave the father’s house and come and fetch his bride to take her to his father’s house, where she would be adorned and made ready for the marriage consummation. The bride would not know the exact time of the groom’s coming. She knew the approximate time. She would need to be ready as the time approached.
Watchmen would go onto the roof of the bride’s house close to the expected time, to watch for the bridegroom’s arrival. The watchmen would then shout – “Behold the bridegroom is coming.” And blow the shofar.
The groom would take his bride and they would then go into “hiding” back at the father’s house, in the secluded, chuppah for seven days where the marriage would be fully consummated.
Only after the full marriage consummation for seven days, would the groom bring his wife out for all to see.
After the marriage in the father’s house, the bride accompanied by 10 virgins carrying tall beams with oil lamps on the top, would be carried on an “aparion” to meet the guests.
Unlike today, this ancient Hebrew wedding had two parts to it. The first stage was called “kiddushin”, which was the contractual betrothal, in which the couple were seen and rendered fully fledged bride and groom, but the marriage was not yet consummated, and they were not permitted to live together yet.
Then came the “nisuin” or the consummation of the marriage under one roof (the chuppah). The chuppah has the distinct meaning of place contained within it. The word “chuppah” means a covering of protection or hiding!
Summary of the ancient wedding:
●The groom goes to the bride in betrothal. This is a type of our salvation.
●He would pay the price required for the bride. This is a type of the cross of Calvary.
●He would then go back to the father’s house to make preparations. This is a type of our Lord’s return to heaven and His waiting and preparing for us.
●He would then leave the father’s house and come to fetch his bride. This is a type of the rapture.
●She would then be adorned and made ready. This is a type of the rewarding of the saints in heaven.
●The marriage consummation would be a private affair in the chuppah for seven days. This is a type of the marriage itself being fully and forever consummated in heaven for seven days, which is also a type of the seven-year tribulation on earth.
●Watchmen on the roof awaiting the return of the now-married bride would watch and declared the arrival. This is a type of the Second Coming of the Lord with His own to be met by the tribulation saints – the wedding guests.
A post-tribulation impossibility:
The post-tribbers believe the rapture occurs right at the end of the tribulation, at the Second Coming. We pre-tribbers, mockingly call it the great U-turn. They believe that our Lord descends to the earth at the Second Coming, the church goes up to meet Him in the air, quickly gets married to Him, does a swift U-turn and comes back to the earth with Him.
But if this wedding tradition is true, the marriage itself occurs at the father’s house (heaven) and lasts for seven days. How does that fit into a post-tribulation rapture? The Second Coming does not last for seven days. There is no way it fits.
The mix up:
We must not mix up these idioms and symbols. ●We have the Groom, who is our Lord Himself. ●We have the Bride, which is the true, born-again church. ●We have the wedding guests who are the tribulation saints, or those saved in the tribulation period.
There is a ●wedding contract or betrothal (not the full marriage). There is the ●marriage ceremony, which occurred privately. There is the ●wedding feast.
If you mix all these things up and don’t see how they fit together, it will throw a spanner in the works of your eschatology.
We must make a distinction between the saints who are called the church, and the saints of the tribulation period. We can’t lump them together.
Matthew 25:1-10 speaks of those who are invited to the marriage supper. A bride is not invited to her own marriage! These are the tribulation saints.
Some people who know all about the ancient Hebrew weddings say that it relates only to the Jews and not the church at all. It obviously does relate to the Jews although they have largely rejected their bridegroom up until now. The symbols, idioms and messages relate to the people of God both Jew and Gentile. Much of the typology is for the church.
In ancient Hebrew tradition it was required that the bride was a virgin at the time of the wedding.
In this day and age, it is very rare to find a marriage couple (male or female) who are virgins. Because this is the case, it does not make it right.
But here is the good news: In Messiah and through the cleansing work of the cross, you are restored to purity. Guilt is gone through the sacrifice of our Lord. We can all stand before Him, at our great wedding ceremony – pure, clean, washed, made holy, righteous, sinless and right with Him.
Here’s an amazing thing hidden in a well-known rapture verse:
2 Thessalonians 2:1 “I beseech you brethren, by the coming Lord Yeshua the Messiah and by our gathering together to Him.” The Hebrew form of the word “gathering” (Strong’s H3349) means “cleansing” and “purging.” In Greek the word simply means to “gather together,” although it does contain the importance of “place” within it.
Isn’t that just amazing? “Gathering” at the rapture also means that we will have been purged and cleansed. We will have been purified and made virgins, clean and white and sin free!
At the feast of the wicked, which I’ll look at further down, all participants will be pure scum, in their sin, evil and wickedness, un-cleansed and unable to ever get clean.
Wildlife and dogs await the wedding:
I’ve always been a dog lover, and have just seen my champion super-star, red setter die in my arms a few nights ago. I’m a lover of wildlife, environment and all natural creation. To me, we have an enormous responsibility to our environment, including our working animals and pets.
So this is all very much on the forefront of my mind right now, which is still in pain.
Romans 8:19-21 “The earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God...The creation itself will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.”
The rest of this discourse goes on to say that all creation is suffering as in labour right now, awaiting this great release, when the true church is finally revealed, married and fully, completed sons and daughters of God.
If you thought the heading of this chapter was amiss, think again. Read those verses again. Read them aloud and let them speak to you.
The next time you see any suffering in natural creation, just remember that it’s not in vain. Very soon all creation will celebrate the wedding of the saints when they return to the earth at the Second Coming, to set it free from the curse and the hands of all evil and wicked people into our hands!!!
The terrible enemy, death, will be swallowed up in eternal life – even the natural creation and yes your dogs and pets too!
Job 12:7-10 “Now ask the beasts, and they will teach you; and the birds of the air and they will tell you; or speak to the earth and it will teach you; and the fish of the sea will explain to you. Who among all of these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this, in whose hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind?”
Revelation 19:9 “Then He said to me, write: Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb...”
Isaiah 62:4-5 “You (Israel) shall no longer be termed forsaken, nor shall your land be termed desolate...for the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be married. For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall your sons marry you; and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall God rejoice over you.”
The marriage of the antichrist the feast of hell:
There is only one rapture described in the Bible at the end of the seven-year tribulation period. It is the “rapture” of the wicked from this earth to hell.
Revelation 19:17-19 “Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, come and gather for the supper of the great God, that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people free and slave, both small and great.”
The devouring birds in this verse and others like it are a reference to demon spirits and forces.
There will be a feast at this wedding with much drinking!
Revelation 17:6 “I saw the woman (religion) drunk with the blood of saints and the blood of the martyrs of Yeshua. And when I saw her, I marvelled with great amazement.”
Matthew 22: 12-14 “Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment? And he was speechless! Then the king said to the servants, bind him hand and foot, take him away and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Many are called and few and chosen.”
Revelation 17:1-5 speaks of the great whore of Babylon, sitting on a scarlet beast, drunk with her fornication and blasphemy, with whom the kings of the earth had committed fornication.
In these verses above we see some horrific symbolism, all pointing to a terrible, final, eternal and irreversible destination.
You have a choice now, but the second you step into eternity, you will have no choice. You won’t be able to get up and walk out of the feast of hell. Please make the right choice now.
Note that the antichrist kills and causes the blood of the tribulation saints to flow. He rides a scarlet beast, while we have the scarlet blood of the Lamb cleansing us from the inside out!
The antichrist is arrayed in scarlet, not the saving blood emanating from the cross of Calvary. It’s all on the outside – external, like the works of all religion.
We as true believers in our Lord are drunk on the new wine of the Spirit. The work of the Spirit is within us – in our hearts. The antichrist is seen as drunk on the blood of the saints. He will slaughter those who are saved in the tribulation period.
The unsaved of the tribulation become the bride of the antichrist like it or not! They go to the feast of slaughter, like it or not. They go to the supper and feast of demons and devils like it or not. If you are not saved, the antichrist is coming for you, ready or not!
Those of the false church, counterfeit Christians and all those who thought they were Christians because they went to church on Christmas day will go to this feast as well.
The “whore of Babylon” does not go in the rapture (obviously). In the form of the Catholic church, she goes straight into the tribulation. They are already married to none other than Satan.
Surprisingly, a large number of the so-called Christians mentioned in the letters to the seven churches in the Revelation are destined for the tribulation feasts of hell.
Please be aware that it was God who shut the door of the Ark of Noah. It is God who shuts the door to the five foolish virgins. There is coming a time where the door will be shut. You don’t want to be caught on the outside...come in now!
Here are a few characteristics of the antichrist. Please be aware that there will be one antichrist, soon to be revealed, but that there are many in the spirit of antichrist even now.
Antichrist will be: ●Lawless or a law unto himself (2 Thessalonians 2:3). ●He will blaspheme God (Revelation 13:6). ●He will claim to be God 2 Thessalonians 2:4) ●He will be a miracle worked (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12, Revelation 13:13) ● He will control the world economy (Revelation 13:16-17) ●He will defile the Temple (Daniel 11:31, 21:11) ●He will seek to destroy Israel (Daniel 11:40-41, 9:27) ●He will cause wars and destruction. (Revelation 12:12, 19:19)
The impossibility of the post-tribulation rapture position:
(If you would like to know more on the rapture, please see the previous three editions. If you go to the “Editions by Subject” Index on the right hand side, there are numerous other editions there on all aspects of the rapture)
As you can see from the content of this edition and the rich symbolism of the ancient Jewish wedding, the post-tribulation rapture position, simply does not fit in.
All the meanings and types are lost in the post-trib position.
Because so few people today know anything at all about the traditional wedding, the meanings just fly right over their heads.
Putting together the symbolism of the Feasts of the Lord, particularly the Feast of Trumpets (previous edition) with these of the wedding ceremony – the scales tip very heavily in favour of the pre-tribulation rapture.
Those who believe that there will be no rapture, because the word “rapture” is not in the Bible (according to their erroneous thinking) are so far wrong, they are right off the scale! They are not qualified to be teachers of any description.
Looking into all of these idioms and symbols in the ancient Hebrew wedding, we see the pre-tribulation rapture so clearly. But more than that, we see that none of it actually fits into a post-tribulation rapture position.
You can twist things and try to make them fit the post -trib view, but the more you try, the deeper into a mess you get.
The pre-trib rapture, just fits in so well, just like a jig-saw puzzle.
Revelation 21:27 (The glory of the New Jerusalem) “There shall by no means enter into it anything that defiles or causes abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”
