Shabbat (Sabbath) begins on Fridays at 6pm and ends on Saturdays at 6pm. The purpose is to help the church and Israel become reconciled in Messiah and to identify the rift, and the needed restoration. There is much in the church that needs to change before it can be fully reconciled with the Jew. Likewise, changes in Jewish thinking are also needed.
8th November 2019
Shabbat Shalom to all!
The tree-huggers delight:
The Bible uses plants, trees, colours, animals, birds, numbers and more to describe people and nations. It is the subliminal symbols that are of great significance and meaning, especially in relation to Israel.
Did you realise that the entire course of Israel’s history is plotted in the trees? There is much more to these symbols and metaphors - for another time.
Here are some amazing messages blowing in the wind, relating to Israel.
►The Olive tree: (Romans 11)
These trees have very deep, well established roots. They are sometimes called eternal trees, because they are so hardy; they live for many thousands of years. An ancient olive tree appears to die, but then miraculously, new shoots appear out of the dead wood continuing its existence.
The olive tree produces a rich olive oil which has numerous uses, but is also a type of the Holy Spirit. Olive oil is required to keep the temple menorah flames burning. This symbolises light. Olive tree leaves are symbols of peace. Remember the dove bringing back an olive branch to the ark after the flood of judgement.
The root of the olive tree is symbolic of God Himself. The root is called, “holy.”
Biblically, there are two olive trees of importance. The natural olive tree, is symbolic of Israel, and the wild olive tree, is symbolic of the church. The wild olive branch was “grafted” into the natural olive tree, thus partaking of the goodness of the root.
The national emblem of Israel includes two olive branches.
An ancient olive tree grove:
►The Fig tree:
The fig tree is symbolic of spiritual fruitfulness after severe pruning or judgement. It relates to Israel in the tribulation period, awakening to spiritual life.
The fig tree is unique in that its blossoms appear before the leaves. It should have fruit appearing before the leaves. This is why our Lord cursed the unfruitful fig tree, causing it to die. The root was not destroyed though, and a new tree full of fruit, is about to appear.
When the disciples asked out Lord what would be the sign of His coming, He listed a number of judgements to fall on the world. But one of these was the sign of the fig tree.
Matthew 24:32-34 “learn the parable of the fig tree: When is branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that the summer is near. So also you when you see all these things, know that it is near, even at the very doors. Assuredly, I say to you, ‘this generation (of Jews) will be no means pass away till all these things are fulfilled.’”
Present day Zionism and the awakening of the Jews, as well as modern anti-Semitism are signs of the fig tree putting forth leaves and about to produce much spiritual fruit.
►The Almond tree:
The almond is the first tree to flower in its season, which at the end of winter. The flower has five petals to it, five being the number of grace. The temple menorah, a symbol of light, has oil cups or containers in the shape of almond flowers.
The Hebrew word for “almond” is “shakeid” which also means to “awake” and “watch”.
The almond is symbolic of Messiah’s resurrection. It speaks of the supernatural power of God as seen in Aaron’s almond branch that budded in one day. (Numbers 17:8)
Jeremiah 1:11-14 “The word of the Lord came to me saying, ‘Jeremiah, what do you see?’ I said, ‘I see the branch of an almond tree.’ Then the Lord said, ‘you have seen well for I am about to perform My word.’ And the word of the Lord came to me a second time, saying, ‘what do you see? And I said, a boiling pot and it is facing away from the north.’ Then the Lord said to me: ‘Out of the north calamity shall break forth on all the inhabitants of the land.’”
The message here is that as the almond (Israel) flowers and buds she will be plunged into the tribulation period.
Jeremiah 31:28 “It shall come to pass that as I have watched over them to pluck up, to break down, to throw down, to destroy and to afflict them, so I will watch over them to build and plant says the Lord. In those days they shall say no more, ‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes...’”
Psalm 80:8-9 “You have brought a vine out of Egypt, You have cast out the nations and planted it. You prepared room for it, and caused it to take deep root and it filled the land.”
This vine, Israel, is described as “the choicest vine.” But it is a vine that also has within it a “winepress.” (Isaiah 5:1-2) The “winepress” speaks of the crushing tribulation to come!
God planted Israel as a “noble vine” of the highest quality, yet it became an alien, degenerate vine. This speaks of Israel's rebellion to Messiah. (Jeremiah 2:21)
As with the olive and the fig tree, the vine will bear its good fruit in its time, which is just around the corner!
►Other trees symbolic of Israel:
Joel 1:12 (Context: Israel is invaded in the tribulation period) “The vine has dried up and the fig tree has withered; and the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree. All the trees of the field have withered. Surely joy has withered away from the sons of men.
But we know that Israel's story does not end in the tribulation. Joy will return.
The Cedar: Symbol of power, royalty and majesty. The Oak: Symbol of strength and stability. The Palm: Symbol of military victory and victory in Messiah. The Pomegranate: Symbol of abundance and joyfulness. The Acacia: Symbol of beauty. The Myrtle: Symbol of God’s favour and blessing.
The grand summary:
Israel is: Deeply rooted in God with an eternal future. Israel contains the light-producing oil of the Spirit of God and soon will be Messiah’s light of the world! Israel will be at peace soon. The church is a “wild” family member of Israel through our joint root in God. Israel will become fully fruitful after pruning. Israel’s ripening fruit is a sign of Messiah’s coming. Israel will bud and come to life supernaturally in a day and then bring the light of salvation to the Gentile world. Israel will go through the winepress of tribulation, be attacked from the north and fall under calamity, because she was the choicest, noble vine and yet gave herself to paganism. (Baal) Finally Israel will fulfil God’s call and plan in power, majesty and strength, abundance, and blessing.
All of this is revealed in the nature of this forest of trees, and the corresponding Bible verses. How can you not be a tree-hugger!
Edition 493: October 29th 2019
The Great Mystery Sign:
These are words of life!
The metamorphosis of Israel into a beautiful jewel - bedecked creation of the living God, and when it will occur, is essentially what this edition is all about.
This is a most important edition!
You may recall that I said a few weeks ago that I was expecting the revelation of a mystery sign very soon that would be a warning to the world and an incredible insight into the plans of God. This is the first stage of the revelation. I sense that there is more to be revealed by the Spirit of God.
Two great mysteries end simultaneously:
Two of the Bible mysteries are the mystery called the rapture (1 Corinthians 15:51), and the mystery of Israel’s blindness. (Romans 11:25) Both are connected.
The church age as a whole is also called a mystery. It began on the day of Pentecost and will end at the rapture. This will also be exactly when the mystery of Israel’s blindness to her Messiah will end.
There is a tragic side to Israel’s blindness coming to an end. It will be the more severe blinding of the churches of replacement theology! One receives sight and the other loses sight! Both have already begun in a limited way.
Beware, churches of replacement theology! When Israel receives her sight; that will be the exact time you will be more deeply blinded! What a terrible thing to go into the future blind, deaf and with a hardened heart. What a terror! (Romans 11:18, 20-22)
Romans 11:23 “If they (Jews) do not continue in unbelief, they will be grafted back in, for God is able to graft them in again.”
The great Zechariah sign:
Israel is a sign to the church and the true church is a sign to Israel.
Zechariah 3:8-9 “Hear O Joshua the high priest, you who have companions who sit before you, for they are a wonderful sign; for behold, I am bringing forth My Branch. Behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua: Upon the stone are seven eyes. ‘Behold, I will engrave its inscription,’ says the Lord of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.”
Here we see Joshua sitting with “companions” who are a “wonderful sign.” So, who are these companions? The original word simply means “close friends or lovers.” Could it be that prophetically, the companions of Israel are in fact the true, Israel-friendly church?
What is the “wonderful sign” that these friends are? The original word is: Strong’s H4195 – “Mowpheth”. Meanings: Wonderful miracle, a sign of God’s power!! This meaning has connotations of the miraculous and supernatural.
Is the rapture of the church a wonderful, miracle sign of God’s power? You bet it is!
I hope you see where we are going with this. Could it be that the rapture of the Israel-friendly church will soon be the wonderful sign to Israel and to the world?
Let’s carry on with our prophetic application. Who is “My Branch” that is about to be brought forth to Israel? The original has the word capitalised as it should be. This is none other than the Jewish Messiah – Yeshua! (Isaiah 4:2, Jeremiah 23:5, 33:15, Zechariah 6:12).
Now we come to the “stone.” This is no ordinary stone. It has seven eyes and an engraving on it. The Bible calls our Lord, the “stone which the builders rejected. (Matthew 21:42). Again, this is a reference to our Messiah, the Jewish Messiah Himself.
What is the engraving on the stone?
Exodus 28:9-11 “Then you shall take two onyx stones and engrave on them the names of the sons of Israel. Six names on one stone and six on the other, according to their birth.”
Here we see the engraving on this stone is the names of all the tribes of Israel.
Our Lord has also “inscribed” and “engraved” Zion (Israel) on the palms of His hands. (Isaiah 49:16)
Next, we come to the “seven eyes.” What are they a reference to?”
The “seven eyes” have connotations of perfect spiritual insight and wisdom, might, knowledge and more. These are the “seven eyes” of the Messiah. (Isaiah 11:2)
Revelation 5:6 “I looked and behold, in the midst of the throne...a Lamb as though it had been slain having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth.”
And finally, let's look at the most dramatic portion of Zechariah: “I will remove the iniquity of the land in one day.”
Many interpreters believe that this “one day” is a reference to the cross. They are wrong. The events of the cross took three days and did not remove the iniquity of Israel.
It would have to be some monumental event to have such a dramatic effect on the Jews. It can only be the shock caused by the rapture of the church, with them being left behind, because they have still not repented of their rejection of their Messiah.
So, let’s look at the whole verse prophetically:
Joshua (Israel) sits with his companions (the Israel friendly church) who are about to become a wonderful sign to the tribes of Israel through the rapture, which will then cause them to see the Branch (their Messiah) giving them new, deep spiritual insight and understanding. Their repentance will come in one day.
This will all be a result of the sudden rapture of the true church.
One day / Suddenly:
Romans 10:19 “I will provoke you (Jews) to jealousy, by those who are not a nation; I will anger you by a foolish nation.”
Some say that this “foolish nation” constitutes the born-again Jews who are members of the church. Some say it is a broader reference to the entire true church. Both are accurate.
With the Jews being the “chosen people,” they will most certainly be made “angry” and “jealous” at the same time, very suddenly, when the rapture of the largely Gentile church takes place, leaving them behind.
By the way, “the iniquity of the land” is obviously not referring to land, but people – the chosen people, the Jews. The iniquity being removed in one day, does not mean that every Jew will be saved in one day.
The best meaning is that on one particular day, the mass salvation process of the Jews begins. The veil of blindness will be gone in a day. Yes it has already been removed, but the Jews haven’t noticed it yet. They will in one day.
This begins the process of large numbers being saved right through the tribulation period, and with a large mass being saved on the final day of the tribulation.
The shock of the chosen people being left behind at the rapture, best fits the bill of something huge and devastating, causing an entire nation to repent and have their sin removed suddenly.
Zechariah 14:7 “It shall be one day which is known to the Lord – neither day nor night, but at evening time it shall happen, that it will be light.”
This verse above is enlightening indeed. It speaks of an event that will happen in one day, known to the Lord. It will happen in the twinkling of an eye!
Did you know that the Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) begins at the sighting of the new moon, just as it “twinkles in the early evening? This is called “the twinkling of an eye?” (Look it up).The verse says that this is when it will be “light”. It must be symbolic light, because it is does not get lighter in the evening. This is spiritual light coming to Israel in a day.
Is this verse in Zechariah giving us a hint as to when the rapture will take place and the enlightenment of the Jews goes into overdrive as the tribulation begins?
Note that it is “day known to the Lord.” The other well-known rapture verse says that the day or hour is not known to the Lord. It isn’t a contradiction, because the day was not known to our Lord at the time when He was here on earth.
Isaiah 66:8 “Who has heard of such a thing? Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once (Lit= One time)?” As soon as Zion travailed (Israel enters the tribulation) she gave birth to her children.” (This verse speaks of Israel’s natural birth as a nation in one day (1948) and with a double reference to Israel’s soon coming spiritual birth also in one day.)
(Please get every idea and trace of the replacement theology interpretation and great error of this verse above, by the Revelation 12-sign teachers. Tragically, it still lingers in the hearts of many.)
Jeremiah 6:26 “O daughter of My people, cloth yourself in sackcloth and roll about in ashes! Make mourning as for an only son, most bitter lamentations, for the plunderer will suddenly come upon us.”
In this verse above we see the sudden nature of the tribulation events falling on Israel and causing mass repentance.
To be scripturally accurate, the rapture ends the church age and begins the tribulation period immediately. Do not fall for the error that the tribulation does not start immediately after the rapture. This big error has some terrible knock on effects to other doctrines; besides, it is a presumption with no scriptural support.
It is a false doctrine that makes a big mess of dispensations.
Here is a beautiful illustration in the Bible of how some things happen suddenly:
Numbers 17:8 “It came to pass the next day that Moses went into the tabernacle of witness, and behold, the rod of Aaron, of the house of Levi, had sprouted (budded) and put forth buds and produced blossoms and yielded ripe almonds.”
The almond tree’s branch budded in one day!
The word “almond” in Hebrew means “the awakening one.” It is the first tree to bud in the season, and it is a well-known type of Israel. This tree budding in one day is Israel awakening to her Messiah (Jeremiah 1:11-12)
Interestingly the temple menorah’s light-holding cups were to be embellished with almond blossoms. The menorah itself is a symbol of eternal light. (Exodus 37:19-20)
The dramatic effects of “one day” on Israel:
Israel will see! They will see their Messiah from behind a non-existing veil! They will see that the veil of blindness was actually removed nearly 2000 years ago! They will see why they have not been able to see!
It is because of their pride and lack of repentance.
In the tribulation period after the “one day” rapture, spectacular changes will come upon the remnant of Israelis in a flash!
Note the incredible key points of these verses below. (By the way, those of replacement theology hate these verses with a passion. Their faces go red with anger at them!)
Zephaniah 3:13 “The remnant of Israel will do no unrighteousness and speak no lies, nor shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth...”
Jeremiah 50:20 “In those days and in that time, says the Lord, the iniquity of Israel will be sought, but there shall be none; and the sins of Judah will not be found, for I will pardon those whom I preserve.”
Isaiah 29:23-24 “When he see his children, the work of My hands, in his midst, they will hallow My name, and hallow the Holy One of Jacob, and fear the God of Israel. These also, who erred in spirit, will come to understanding...”
Micah 7:18-19 “Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage (Israel)? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue (destroy) our iniquities.”
Jeremiah 31:34 (The new covenant for Israel) “No more shall every man teach his neighbour and every man his brother, saying, ‘know the Lord’, for they shall all know Me from the least of them to the greatest, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity and their sin I will remember no more.”
Hosea 2:17 “I will take from her (Israel’s) mouth he names of the Baals, and they shall be remembered no more.”
The paganism of the Baals was the occult practises of many Babylonian traditions. Today they are seen in the practices of Christmas and Easter. Note it is even the use of the names that is forbidden. (Psalm 24:4)
Jeremiah 23:26-27 “...Prophets of deceit prophecy of their own heart, trying to make My people forget My name by their dreams which everyone tells his neighbour, as their fathers forgot My name for Baal.
Let’s not forget that Israel in the tribulation will be “God’s battle-axe” and agents of war against their and God’s enemies. (Jeremiah 51:20)
Here now are the massive, magnificent changes that will come upon Israel, compiled from these verses above:
They will be shocked and motivated by: ●jealousy, ●anger at the church being raptured. ●They will repent. ●They will be forgiven of all their sins. ●They will walk in holiness, righteousness and understanding. ●They will have clean hands. ●They will have no traces of the occult, paganism and the “Christian” pagan practises of Easter and Christmas. ●They will have no foreign gods. ●They will destroy the false prophets.
Compare this lot above to Israel today – hoo boy!
Israel destroys the false prophets:
Today Israel has many enemies. All those who are anti-Semitic are her enemies and all the churches of replacement theology are also Israel’s enemies. The funny thing is that they will be destroyed by Israel! That’s what you call an Oops!
But it’s an oops with eternal consequences!
The churches and deceived teachers of replacement theology think they’re doing God a favour by dethroning and getting rid of Israel. What a shock they will have when the God of love for Israel, reveals their spirit of error.
Zechariah 13:1-2 “In that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness. It shall be in that day says the Lord of hosts that I shall cut off the names of the idols from the land and they shall no longer be remembered. I will also cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to depart from the land....It shall be in that day that every prophet will be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies...
The verse below is a tragedy. It echoes the Nazi Holocaust, but it speaks succinctly of the great modern-day Holocaust and its backfire! This speaks of all enemies of God and His plans, and enemies of Israel. It speaks against anti-Semitism and replacement theology in the church!
Psalm 21:8-12 “Your hand (God) will find all Your enemies; Your right hand will find those who hate You. You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of Your anger; The Lord shall swallow them up in His wrath, and the fire shall devour them.
The Holocaust was a “fiery oven.” Here is God’s Holocaust on His enemies and those who hate Israel in the tribulation period! It’s never a good idea to mess with God’s plans!
All enemies of Israel in and out of the church, here is another sad verse just for you:
Numbers 23:8-9 “How shall I curse that which God has not cursed? And how shall I denounce what the Lord has not denounced? From the top of the rocks I see him (Israel) a people dwelling alone, not reckoning itself among the nations.”
Israel has the call of God upon her for His purpose. She can never assimilate into the nations. That is why the world hates them, and also why the world’s churches - the churches of replacement theology, hate them.
When will all this happen:
Some teachers say that the rapture is a sign-less event. On its own that is so, but it is not a stand-alone event. The rapture begins the seventieth week of Daniel, which is the closing seven years of the Old Covenant, which has been hold. The rapture is directly associated with the revealing of the antichrist. These are not sign-less events.
As regular readers know, I believe the next big prophetic event will be foreshadowed in the Feast of Trumpets. This occurs on one of two possible days (identified by the sighting of the new moon). This is either September 19th or 20th next year.
Could the rapture happen before then? Yes it could, but it is much more probable that it will happen on a Feast of Trumpets.
It will absolutely not happen until we see evidence of the coming peace treaty, and the revealing of the antichrist.
Some other events may happen just before the tribulation begins, or just into it. These include: ●The major prophesied wars. ●The alignment of the ten-nation confederacy in the general area of the ancient Roman Empire. ●The arising of the false prophet. ●There will be a rise in false Christ’s, false prophets, false and teachers. ●There will be an increase in martyrdom and persecution of true Christians. ●The gospel will go out to the nations with greater intensity. ●Church growth will increase dramatically and the non-Spirit filled churches will fall away at an ever increasing rate.
As I said up at the top, I do expect some other dramatic signs to suddenly break, very soon. We just have to sit and wait, which I don’t like doing!
Daniel 2:34 “In the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms and shall stand forever.”
If you as a Christian are trying your best to make the kingdom of the world a better place, I suggest you have the verse above implanted into your head.
This is one of my old-style paintings of a black rhino. I mixed it into the background of one of my later semi-abstract, ethnic, mixed media art works. It gives it a fresh look.
Shalom and grow in His Grace!
