An amazing prophecy:

We must be very careful of extra-Biblical predictions, but on the other hand, we can cautiously examine them if they fit in with the Bible prophecy. We must take them before our Lord and allow Him to reveal to us whether they have any significance.

With this in mind, I'd like to present you with an interesting prophecy from a Medieval Jewish document interpreted by a Rabbi. This writing is known as the "Yalkut Shimoni. Here are some excerpts from the 1310 AD document:

"In the year in which our Messiah-King appears, all nations of the world are provoking each other. The king of Persia (Iran) provokes an Arab king (perhaps Saudi Arabia) and the Arab king turns to Aram (the West) for advice." The king of Persia goes back to destroy the world and all the nations of the world are in panic and distress and they fall upon their faces and are seized with pains like those of a woman giving birth. Israel is in panic and distress asking 'where shall we go?' not fear, the time of your redemption has come."

This prophecy does tie up perfectly with Bible prophecy and the current situation relating to Iran.

The Lamb and the Lion of God

John 1:29 "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world."

Revelation 5:5 "Behold the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David has prevailed."

Nahum 1:2 "He reserves His wrath for His enemies".

If you do not receive Yeshua / Jesus as the Lamb of God voluntarily, you will receive Him as the Lion of God whether you believe it, want it, or not.

Rejecting the love of God will result in wrath of God.

If you don't believe this it will change nothing at all.

As an unbeliever you can neutralise the coming wrath of the Lion by becoming one of God's own now. Like Daniel in the lion's den, the presence of the living God all around him at that time, calmed the lions. As a true believer, you are the Lion's true friend.

As an environmentalist, I've personally had many experiences with great majestic lions in the wild, sometimes on foot and getting pretty close to being lion-toast. Just look at the size of this lion's head leaning on my friend Kevin!  I've experienced the blood-curdling, thundering, dramatic roar of lions right next to me, while not sleeping in my little tent at night out in the wild. Many people don't notice this, but when a lion is in full roar, all other creatures keep silent!

The full roar nearby, makes the air shudder. It's a most awesome, thrilling, spine-chilling experience. I've watched lions on many occasions ruthlessly tearing their prey to shreds. I've seen the destroyed remains of two people killed by lions.

It is no co-incidence that lions are called the "king of the beasts" and no co-incidence that our Lord, the King of Kings is compared with a lion. Do you think that this is a mistake? Most preachers today present a lion that would never harm anyone, like a little pussy cat, because that's what stupid people want and expect.

Goodness love and wrath:

Romans 11:22  "Consider both the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but towards you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off."

The above verse is part of the discourse relating to Israel being cut off for unbelief, but the principle is universal. By the way, this discourse ends with Israel being grafted back in on her repentance and recognition of Messiah.

Acts 20:27 "I have not shunned to declare to you the whole council of God." This verse is a stain on many of today's preachers and teachers. They do not present the "whole or full council of God. They remove from the truth what they and their dumb flock deem objectionable.

The full truth is a great and terrible thing. We need the full truth, both sides of it. Today the full truth is not popular, In fact it has become the new hate speech!

A one sided Christianity will be seen in your tolerance and love for sin and evil, and accepting of what God has judged.

If you have rejected the severity of God and have only a Lamb but no Lion, you're a spineless, sickly-sweet half-baked Christian!

Hosea 7:8 "Ephraim has mixed himself among the peoples; Ephraim is a cake half-baked."

Many churches today are useless. They are no different to the local sports club. They may as well gather for a night of Bingo! Their preachers have no fear of the Lord and this they transfer to their people.

Isaiah 66:2 "...On this one will I look, on him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word."

Do you "tremble" at God's word? Do you come before our great Messiah in fear and awe? Do you elevate God's word to a high and mighty place in your life?

Proud people have a low view of God's word and high view of their own ideas. In their blindness they charge God with being unfair and unjust.

Jeremiah 5:22-24 "Do you not fear Me, says the Lord. Will you not tremble at My presence..." This people has a defiant and rebellious heart, they have revolted and departed. They do not say in their heart , let us now fear the Lord our God."

It's important to know and understand both aspects of our Messiah. If, in your stupidity, you remove the severity and Lion dimension to our Messiah you will be full of ungodliness, un-holiness  and sin. If you centre on the Lion dimension without the Lamb, you'll be unbalanced and full of legalism.

If you throw a sheep to a lion, what do you think will happen? It will be savagely torn to shreds. Many of today's ministers have become spineless savages. They remove all of God's warning signs. They are effectively throwing their flock to the lions.

Here is a link (used in previous edition as well) To a BBC article with video clips on the fall of the church in Europe. If you have not done so, please look at the article and watch the shocking video clips.

The church in Europe today

I've said many times before: It is not love but hatred to remove God's warning signs.

There are many names for our Messiah in the scriptures. Obviously these are allegories and relate to aspects of His nature. Today we are looking at only the Lamb and the Lion.

The lamb of God:

The Lamb of God relates to the first coming of Yeshua / Jesus as the saviour of the world. He came in love, humility and compassion offering Himself as the once- for- all sacrifice resulting in salvation for all who would accept Him. A lamb is a gentle creature and has a submissive nature - submissive even unto death.

A the first advent our Lord did just that. He willing followed the plan of God for our eternal salvation. His character and nature was soft, gentle, forgiving and of course absolutely pure and sinless.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him would not perish but have eternal life."

Yes he did fly into a rage at certain things. This was always at the abuse of truth. But generally He had the character and nature of a lamb.

This gentle, forgiving, loving character of our Messiah is limited. His return will not be in this character. It will be as the Lion. Forgiveness grace, mercy and longsuffering will soon run out.

But our Lord will forever maintain the Lamb aspect of His nature to those who are Hs own and have been born again into His kingdom. Once a person is truly saved, the Lion turns into a Lamb.

We must realise that church leaders are also called shepherds and are responsible for leading the flock. Many are not true shepherds but dangerous wolves in sheep's clothing.

The Lion of God:

1Kings 20:36 "Because you have not obeyed the voice of the Lord, surely as soon as you depart from me, a lion shall kill you" and as soon as he left a lion found him and killed him."

Okay, the verse above shows the danger of rejecting the voice of the Lord, but the Lion of God (tribe of Judah) really relates to the full nature of our Messiah as we head onto the end-time stage.

The reason for the Lion of God is simply because thats part of God's truth. It also goes a long way to producing the fear of the Lord in us as believers.

Because the world has rejected the Lion of God, evil prospers in this world. But that does not make it right. Truth includes all of God's word. Truth is fast becoming the new hate speech!

No Lion no fear. No fear...big trouble is coming!.

Hebrews 10:31 "It's a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."

Hebrews 12:29 "Our God is a consuming fire."

The fear of the Lord:

There is no fear in absolute pure love. That is our future. Now, however, we're exposed to and influenced to some degree by the world and it's god, Satan.

The ministry of the Lion of God only effectively starts in the tribulation period, but it most certainly has a dimension that is related to believers now. It is designed to assist in producing the fear of God in our lives.

One of my spiritual fathers, Derek Prince would often say "Do you know what the fear of the Lord means?" "It means to fear Him!" Even as an old man in his late 80s he would often break down in tears while speaking of the majesty of God. He was a man who knew the fear of the Lord deeply. His ministry was so powerful and enduring because of that. There were no gimmicks or superficial methods in his ministry.

He had real spiritual authority and when He spoke there was real gravity to what he said.

2 Corinthians 5:11 "Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men..."

The following verses should be read just as they are. There's no interpretation or commentary on them. Just read them and let the Spirit of the living God speak to you. Don't come up with fancy ideas of interpretation, just read them straight.

Joshua 24:14 "Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your father served...serve the Lord."

Psalm 19:9 "The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the judgements of the Lord are true and righteous altogether."

Psalm 25:12-14 "Who is the man that fears the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses...the secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, Him He will show His covenant."

Psalm 31:19 "Oh how great is your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You."

Psalm 33:18 "Behold the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy."

Psalm 34:7 "The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and delivers them."

Psalm 89:7 "God is greatly to be feared in the assembly (church) of the saints and to be held in reverence by all those who are around Him.

Psalm 103:11 "For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy to those who fear Him."

Psalm 111:10 "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and a good understanding have all those who do His commandments."

Psalm 147:11 "The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him."

Proverbs 3:7-8 "Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh and strength to your bones.

Proverbs 8:13 "The fear of the Lord is to hate evil, pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate."

Proverbs 15:33 "The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom and before honour is humility."

Proverbs 19:23 "The fear of the Lord leads to life and he who has it will abide in satisfaction and not be visited with evil."

Proverbs 29:25 "The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts the Lord will be safe."

Ecclesiastes 12:13 "Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man."

Acts 9:31 "Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee and Samaria had peace and were edified and were walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied."

What I've done now is just taken the key words from these verses above and strung them together.

The fear of the Lord is: clean. Those who have it: know the secrets of the Lord, receive great goodness and protection, have knowledge, wisdom and understanding. They are healthy, strong, with long life. They hate evil, keep the word, and they have peace.

Isn't that amazing? What a wonderful beautiful life all created by the fear of the Lord! It's a magnificent pathway to victory! (and there are many other "fear of the Lord verses I've not even touched on")

On many occasions I've asked my Lord in prayer for Him to teach me the fear of the Lord. I don't want to know all the words, I want to know the reality. It's a scary thing, I might tell you, because it's one of those prayers that the Lord does answer. But oh man it's so worth it!

Amazingly, what happens is that over time the average complacency that we have in our spiritual lives dissipates and a new shock and awe comes in.

Case in point: I've uploaded a new video into the "videos tab on this website called "The fear of God is lost in the church." While watching it I ended up truly humbled and shocked. I thought to myself. One day I'm going to stand before this spectacular King of the universe in judgement.  No, not for salvation, but for reward and assessment of every single aspect of my life!

Have a look at the verse below. This was written by John the apostle, who was the one whom our Lord had a special love for and vise versa.

Revelation 1:17 "When I saw Him I fell at His feet as dead."

If you were to see the risen Lord standing before you, what would you do or say? Remember though, that He made every single little atom of your body, created the life that goes into it. He made every single square inch of the universe. He knows everything there is to know, and he has the keys of heaven and hell.

Yes I know His wonderful love and forgiveness, but I tell you, just like John, I would fall at His feet as dead!

►Please take some time to watch the new video clip in the videos tab on this website titled "The fear of God is lost in the church." It's a collection of snippets from many old-school preachers, some now dead and with our Lord.

There is such safety, security and stability in fully embracing the Lamb and the Lion.

In fact you can only really appreciate and understand the love of God with an understanding of the Lion.

The bottom line

Interestingly the devil has been very successful with modern man. It's really politically incorrect today, and not the done thing for families to discipline their children. The new modern liberal way has nothing to do with severity, punishment and the like. Modern man is a failure!

I sat in a restaurant the other day and a very old woman was sitting at a table nearby reading "My Daily Bible." At a table next to me, four younger women were sitting talking proudly of their homosexual sons. I just thought to myself; here is one woman on the verge of eternity, preparing herself and others firmly on the road to hell!

It's well known that Apple CEO and founder Steve Jobs denied our Lord during his life. His last words as he died were: "Oh wow, oh wow!" There was a common criminal on a cross next to our Lord, who also knew that he was about to die. His last words were; "Lord save me." Which one was the truly wise one? Who was the true fool?

The old truth is the way to peace and freedom in this modern day. The Bible (all of it) works when accepted, believed and applied. It is the way to eternal victory.

The two verses at the opening of this edition sum it all up:

"Behold the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world."

The Lamb relates to the first coming of our Lord and the sacrifice of the cross; to love, forgiveness, mercy and grace.

"Behold the Lion of the tribe of Judah who has prevailed." Please note that the Lion will prevail...that is cast in stone!

The Lion relates to the second coming, severity, judgement, punishment and wrath.

As a true believer the Lion becomes your true friend. You also join the Lion as one of His warriors. At the same time you become a lamb led by the true Shepherd. This is one of the wonderful holy contradictions...a lamb and a lion led by the Lamb and the Lion of God.

Today preachers in their ignorance of God ignore the Lion. The world calls it hate speech! Both the Lion and the Lamb are part of God's pure holy nature and character. Only those who know God, see both.

We need a balanced spiritual life.

Psalm 31:19 "Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for those who fear You, which you have prepared for those who trust in You..."

I John 3:2-3 "Beloved, now we are the children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure."

Heaven or hell:

Old man, a hard life has made you angry. But even in your state our Lord can remove the sword of anger from your heart. The Lamb of God can make you one of His own lambs, but you need to surrender all the antagonism and resentment, that you've built up in your life. You may have magnificent eternal rewards coming your way!

Young woman, you may have things a lot easier in life than the old man next to you, but you still need to be saved from the pride of your life! You need the Lamb of God in your life. If you reject Him you will meet our Lord as the Lion of God and your pretty little face will forever regret that foolishness.

Here's a painting by Bosch done in 1490 titled "Christ mocked". All those mocking our Lord are in fact elevating themselves above Him...a big surprise is coming!

Kind regards and many blessings...Shalom and grow in grace!
