●Today we’re in a fast changing world. It’s almost as though someone has made the clock go quicker. Do not underestimate this time period! I expect June and July to be very significant on the world stage.

This will start off in the Middle East, Europe will be adversely affected; the US will be affected and the world economy will be affected.

●Iran is now to expand its 20-pc uranium enrichment program with a number of new centrifuges. (Debka file)

●Israel has gone quiet on Iran! Many journalists are now getting nothing from Israeli officials.

●The US National Defence Authorisation Act (NDAA) authorises the US military for war with Iran (Huffington Post 19th May)

Maturing in Messiah

If you are a human being you will stand before our great Messiah and God Yeshua / Jesus in judgement. This is one appointment you will not miss. You’ll have no choice in the matter. You won’t be late for it.

If you’re a drunken bum in the gutter or a king or queen you will be there! There is nothing more certain.

For many it’s an appointment that’s coming very soon.

For everyone the judgement decision is completely irreversible!

The amazing thing is that many people make no preparations at all for this inevitable eternity-changing event!

Just look at the image above that I’ve created for this edition. Will you be able to stand with open arms before our Lord or will you have your hands clasped around your face in eternal regret?

The believer will stand before our Lord.

The true believer will stand before our Lord in judgement, but it will not be a judgement for salvation. That was settled when the believer received the finished work of salvation through the cross.

The believer will stand before our Lord to be rewarded for works done, motivated by the Spirit of God.

This reward-judgement is called the “bema” seat in the original. That word is the same word used in ancient Greek athletic events. From this seat the rewards were handed out.

Many believers will suffer loss of reward, but will still be saved.

1 Corinthians 3:15 “If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.”

Here’s the shocking thing: All believers will be forever different. We’ll have the same foundation of salvation, but what each one builds on it will be very different.

Have you seen t he foundations for a building after they’ve been laid? Have you seen the plans for the magnificently beautiful palace, which are lying on table next to the drawing board?

Imagine standing before our Lord and seeing all of this staggering wonder and then being told that you only get the foundation! You could have had it all. Well, even the foundation alone will be a billion times better than what the unsaved will get.

This “believer’s” reward is not what the Bible calls “The great white throne judgment” That is exclusively for unbelievers. All unbelievers are cast into hell from there.

The big tragedy is that most Christians are dominated by public opinion. This is because they’re largely ignorant of God’s word.  They are the average majority. They are Joe Soap and his wife. They’re no different to the world, but they may still have a foundation.

The judgement of God is not according to your general good works. It’s not according to what you thought was right, because everyone else thought that. It’s not based on your good intentions. The judgment of God is “according to truth.” Romans 2:2

How to do it

The image above is a collection of some of the most valuable diamonds in the world. These are called the “sun-drop yellow’s”. Nice hey? I want one! I suppose I’d look a bit stupid wearing one of these as an earring. On second thoughts, I’d wear one any day, if I could keep it!

As we are bathed in the light of the SON of the living God we become valuable instruments in His hands. But just like these beautiful diamonds, we need to submit to the work of the skilful Master in our lives as He cuts away all that’s not according to His plan for us. Of course we also need to submit to the work of the Lord in us, as various pressures come our way.

Out of the pressure and cutting of the Lord, comes supreme value and beauty.

A diamond is formed under great pressure, but it’s actually an ugly stone until it goes through the cutting process.

1 Kings 6:7 “The temple was built with stone finished at the quarry, so that no hammer or chisel or any iron tool, was heard in the temple while it was being built.”

For us we as believers can become valuable to our Lord, but incomplete until He does the cutting in us!

We are the temple of the living God, but we’re also part of a corporate ‘temple’ made up of all believers. We’re now being “finished at the quarry” of this earth so that we’ll be ready,  complete and full of glory as we’re fashioned into a universal, eternal temple of majesty.

God gives “beauty for ashes”. (Isaiah 61:3) That applies to those going through real tough fiery times, but it also applies to the wise believer. He willingly submits to this glorious work of God in his life by choice.

It’s all about choice, in spite of the Calvinist rubbish. Calvinism has done an enormous amount of damage to Christendom. (Of course you know that John Calvin was a mass murderer. Look it up)

One of the central tenants of this false doctrine is that people essentially don’t have choice. What rubbish!

Your confidence before our Lord is based on your choice to obey and follow Him.

If you really want to know our Lord more deeply and intimately you can. That’s the good news! But it will cost you plenty. What it will cost you is all the sin and junk in your life! It will cost you the worthless things that many people cling to and impute value to. (Like a Ferrari)

I can hear some of you saying, “Yes but you haven’t see my car; I’d rather have a Ferrari any day.” Listen buddy, a new shiny Ferrari will be a heap of cow dung compared to what’s coming.

Knowing our Lord will cost you many of your worldly beliefs. (Okay then, you can still have your stupid Ferrari)

What follows is a wonderful exchange. It’s my life for His. As “I decrease, He increases” in and through us.

One thing you can be sure of is that if you really want our Lord, His truth and holiness, He will respond, but if you want Him and your world of sin, you’ll end up with only sin. If you want Him and your worldly ways, you’ll end up with Satan’s world exclusively.

Some people find it very easy to get to know our Lord. Other’s like myself had a real battle (at first). I must say that the “battle” is very much in the distant past.

For me it took a fair amount of time to really get going with our Lord. I’ve never backslidden thanks to God’s grace, but as a successful journalist, photographer, and media man, I was so very much a part of the world system.

I was right on the very pulse beat of Satan’s world. I was part of his voice; so it was a fight. It was a glorious fight though. The more I surrendered to the will of our Lord, the more He filled me with His peace and victory.

If you need to become desperate to get into God’s presence, so be it. It will be so very worthwhile.

Proverbs 8:17 “I love those who love Me and those who seek Me diligently shall find Me.”

The biggest thing that you need to do is dethrone self will and self opinion. You need to take up and apply the cross into every area of your life. As you do, you will walk in ever increasing light and glory!

Of course there’re many things you need to do from a practice point of view as well. The most import being the diligent study of God’s word.

Remember that a little spark is needed to start a big fire. But don’t keep a little spark going in your heart. Keep the fires raging in your heart!

The self confident fool

The one who trusts in himself can’t see the gathering storm clouds around him!

Proverbs 26: 12 “Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.”

Proverbs 18:7 “A fool’s mouth is his destruction and his lips are the snare of his soul.”

It’s very interesting that in many places the Bible likens fools with pride and not intellectual ignorance. So true foolishness actually has nothing to do with your IQ, with which you were born. It’s something that everyone has control over. Anyone can easily be a proud arrogant fool by choice, or a humble person.

1 Peter 5:5 “God gives grace to the humble and resists the proud”

Let me absolutely assure of one thing; if God is resisting you are doomed.  Note that the verse says that “God gives to the humble” Please remember this: Pride blinds you / Humility gives you sight!

The one who trust in himself is a self confident fool. He is destined for the most monumental earth shattering meeting in the history of the world.

The “Great White Throne” judgement will be the most undemocratic event ever.  There will be no defence lawyers allowed. There will be only one judge who will also be the jury and executioner and no one will be given the opportunity to defend themselves.

There will be no consideration given to what you thought was right.

There will be only one issue. - Is your name written in the Lamb’s book of life?

The Bible declares that at this judgement, two books will be opened. The Lamb’s book of life will be opened and the unbelievers name will not be found in it. Then that person’s book of works will be opened. Now the self confident fool will see that his works were not perfect and they don’t stack up to the works of Yeshua / Jesus.

Mr. Self confident will now find out that to be saved on his works, the passing grade is 100% and he failed miserably. He rejected the 100% of our Lord that was offered to him as a free gift!

Not only did Mr. Self confident refuse the 100% free gift, he also refused the shed blood of the Lamb which cancels out all his sins. So he now stands before the Judge of all Judges with incomplete works and the weight of all his sins. He is twice doomed. (Don’t think because I’m using “he,” “she “gets off the hook!)

Now Mr. Self confident will begin to scream as he is cast into hell.

Numbering our days

Psalm 90:12 “Teach us to number our days; that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

Ephesians 5:15-17 “See that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise but understand what the will of the Lord is.”

Just as the foundation of a building is the most important aspect when the storms come, so your foundation is of major importance. We’re now going into huge storms in the natural sense as well as spiritual, emotional and in every area. Your foundation will let you down or keep you strong and stable.

Psalm 37:37 “Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright, for the future of that man is peace.

How to know that you’re on the road to maturity with God.

●Do you constantly have a feeling that you’re not alone? Do you have this feeling that someone is with you all the time and that you’re owned by another?

●Do you sometimes feel lifted out of time and drawn into eternity even now?

●Are you easily brought to tears on the thought of God’s amazing grace, love and forgiveness?

●Do you have a love to see others saved?

●Do you still live for self or are you a giving and forgiving person?

●Are you actively resisting sin because it’s unattractive to you?

●Is the power of sin working in the world, the flesh, and the demonic broken in your life?

●Are you horrified at the sin of the world? Psalm 119:53 “Horror has taken hold of me because of the wicked who forsake Your law.”

●Do you feel distinctly separate from, apart from and above the world and its ways? (Not from a pride point of view).

●Do you find the thought of meeting our Lord face to face exceedingly exciting and fearful at the same time?

●Do you have an attitude of expectancy and urgency in this day?

●Do you rebel against the occult in the church like Christmas and Easter?

●Do you battle to fit in with the so-called politically correct issues of the day?

●Do you have a built in resistor! In other words is there something in your heart that draws the line and causes you to be restrained in certain circumstances? For example, will you step aside while your Christian friends bow down to the great satanic god of modern entertainment?

●Do you have a real genuine love for the word of God?

If your answer to the above questions is “yes”, you’re on the right road.

My friends, God’s people will be triumphant!

You must be aware that “world is on course” (says the Bible) being led by its god along the road to hell. You can’t walk together in many instances!

If you are encountering the truth, you will be free from the bondage of legalism. You’ll be free indeed. Truth is an incredible thing indeed. It is full of such gravity, yet it is light and glorious!

It’s just the same as our Lord. He is King of Kings, Lord of Lords, the supreme judge of all, yet he is a father, a brother and a great friend to those who are His by birth.

Some Charles Finney and Tozer quotes: (These are mostly from memory, so they may not be exact. Finney’s ministry was some 200 years ago!)

● “When you’re alone out of the gaze of other Christians, where do you go and what do you do?”

● “You can’t seek the Lord and sin together. If you seek the Lord and continue in sin, you will never find Him, because you’re looking in a place where He is not!”

● “Enjoy the blessings of God or endure curses.”

● “Are you being dragged around by forces you can’t see or control, or are you free indeed?”

● “A worldly spirit in you means you are far from God.”

● “Don’t give sinners the idea that God loves them so much they have nothing to fear.”

● “When you have a worldly spirit in you, you render the salvation of the world impossible.”

● “Christians declare by their worldly conduct that there is no truth in the gospel ...heaven might weep and hell rejoices at this!”

●“Worldly Christian; “you practise denial of the truth and your doctrine is of devils and demons.”

●“Annihilate every excuse for sin and every hiding place of the devil in your life.”

● “When the church takes the neutral ground...forget about revival!”

● “A want of the need for entertainment is evidence of a backslidden heart that does not know truth or the living God.”

● “Many are not seeking God. They have ulterior motives. They’re seeking their own comfort and well being in the world. The church is giving many false comfort and false hope. “

●”Many are on the very verge of hell. The danger they’re in is infinitely greater than can even imagine. The church has given them the comfort full of death.”

●”God comes with pardon and forgiveness in one hand and a sword in the other. Repent and live or refuse and perish in hell.”

● “Denial of self is normal for the believer.”

● “You must aim at being perfect.”

*Some people want to be right with God = right

**Some people want to be right and prove others wrong = wrong

***Some people want to be right but attack God’s truth = wrong, wrong, wrong.

Proverbs 3:13 “Happy is the man who finds wisdom and who gains understanding.”

Jeremiah 33:6 “Behold I will bring health and healing, I will reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.”

It’s very important to know that Satan can’t defeat you from without or externally. Yeshua / Jesus said “Satan has nothing in Me.”

We must now say “As He is so are we.”

Satan can and will bring down the children of the Lord if they entertain him and let him in.

Once you have the wisdom of God’s word and truth deeply imbedded in your heart, you are on the road to unshakable glory!

If you are going the right way, you will be led into all truth.

This may come as a shock to many, but truth is so very far from what many believers think. Their “truth” was manufactured in mind of Satan himself.

Let me explain:

There was one true very successful early church. This church was full of truth and the Spirit of God. This church was made up of Jews and Gentiles.

Then between 300AD and 600AD the entire character and nature of the church was changed by the Catholics. Truth was not added to it was actively changed. Great error and much paganism were brought in.

The error got into the very inner core of the church.

You see, error on the outside can be easily dealt with. Once it gets to the inside, it’s much more difficult to get out.

The changing of the character of the church did not bring light to the world. It brought in the dark ages.

Then the reformation period came along. It was an incomplete move, keeping and enforcing much of the paganism.

Truth shakes off all this evil rubbish and goes right back to the root and foundation!

Do you want to be able to stand in confidence before our Lord? You need to be a person of the truth and with a soft broken and contrite heart before Him.

But you need to know what error is and how it operates so that you can keep it out.

Two little old ladies:

Here’s a quick summary of the position of two little old ladies whom I knew personally. They died many years ago. One was a friend’s mother and the other was my own mother.

My mother was a strong believer all the years of her life. Of course she wasn’t perfect. She taught all her adult life in a Hebrew nursery school and in a children’s church on Sundays. I rejected the Lord in my early days, but her influence most certainly caught up with me. She was baptised as an adult and even just before her death was going to Bible studies. She had an immovable faith and trust in our Lord. Her tombstone has an open Bible engraved on it, with the words “Now with Jesus”

My friend’s mother was a good old lady. She was the original good little old lady. She wouldn’t harm a flea. She loved her family and loved reading Reader’s Digest. She was always there in the background. When she died everyone (except me) said she had a real good innings. Rest in Peace was engraved on her tombstone.

There is no doubt that my mother was truly saved and is now with our Lord.

My friend’s mother was not saved. She spent her entire life in rebellion to God. She lived for self. She was an original good, unsaved person. She will not be saved because she was a good lady. She did not have a “good innings” she was an enemy of God all her life, even though she wouldn’t harm a flea! She will not rest in peace! She is now in eternal regret!

Proverbs 10:25 “When the whirlwind passes by; the wicked are no more, but the righteous has an everlasting foundation.”

The greatest regret:

Ignorance is not bliss. It’s a terrible thing. But ignorance of the truth, when it was right before your very eyes is a thousand times worse. I can’t imagine the horrible regret of untold billions as they see how close the truth was to them and they rejected it.

When speaking of those in hell the Bible talks of “weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth”. It talks of “crying out for just a drop of water to cool the tongue.” It talks of great, great regret.

Daniel 12:2 “Many of those who sleep (die) in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life and some to everlasting contempt.”

Matthew 25:46 “And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into everlasting life.”

Revelation 20:14 “Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire, this is the second death.”

The most important thing in life is to know the living true God, and to be known by Him. We must then be led and inspired to move ever forward with our Lord and Saviour. We must remove obstacles, walk in repentance, examining and judging ourselves as we go. We must keep a soft broken open heart to our Lord.

We must also maintain a hard and impenetrable heart to the devil and his world. We must actively cast him and his world out of our lives.

One day many professing Christians will meet our Lord only to be told: “Depart from Me I never knew you.”

Have a look at how nicely the verse below comes out in the Amplfied:

1 Corinthians 8:3 (Amp) “But if one loves God truly – with affectionate reverence, prompt obedience and grateful recognition of His blessing, he is know by God and he is owned by Him.”

How amazing is that?

Isaiah 9:7 “Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end...”

Isaiah 61:3 “The Lord gives beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord.”

Psalm 23:5 “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.”

Psalm 149:4 “For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation.”

Jeremiah 17:8 “For he shall be a like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when the heat comes...”

Here’s a painting done in the 1600s by Rembrandt representing the apostle Paul at his writing desk.

Shalom and grow in grace!
